integra type r would be my first choice, if I were you, fits in your budget (including insurance)
get a mint one and keep it mint and it probably wont lose any money, not much anyway

no way, i could never get a impreza with out the turbo (to me, a impreza is about power, presence and performance)

would it not be cheaper to insure a turbo 2000 or a wrx bug would imagine the wrx bug would be cheaper with it being newer and safer thats if it is like.

do mk4 golfs 1.8t handle well??
tbh no i went to test drive one at weekend to trade with and no in stock form there to me there crap STOCK.
The mk4 i found was not very comfortable tbh the body roll was horrid the sterring is numb and i dont find it wasnt very responsive the brakes are crap to.
but there cheap and very easy to mod my mate has one with coil overs top mounts and uprated arbs set of 19s with tarox 6 pots and it that is a fun little car.
Handles better than my impreza tbh but it just cant accelerate but as far as braking its brakes quicker grip is better and its is virtualy under steer free unless you trying to accelerate fwd is the only down side.

From another young point of of view are you happy do have enough money or is it making you skint, coz if its not keep it if you love cars as much as me there aint much that will keep you happy .
Ive been in the same position for months and struggling with losing me job its up for sale but i aint rushing it.
I hate not having it there ive had it in for a respray for 2 months and hated every minute of it and i cant afford it tbh.
but its my best freind im tied down with my girlfreind ,house and kid and its my only way to relax and get away it keeps me from going crazy.
I can just about afford to to keep it and my family but it gets used rarely. its is my life my car i keep my self to my self got alot of freinds but i try to stay away from them i love my cars its got naff all to do with any image why i have mine, its just my hobbie some like football, rugby, motorbikes and cycling mines cars i just like messing when i get bord i do oil change. But im proberly diffrent to most some ppl call me sad but i love my simple life my gfs happy baby is happy aslong as there ok what ever else have i got to do.
dont matter how much insurance it costs or fuel if makes you feel good then its worth it to me .

If you want a Jap car some of my mates are 19-20 and they have Starlet GT Turbo's.. You thought about them? My mates has a TD04 turbo init plus other bits and bobs and it's running over 300bhp.

Also, His brother has a Celica GT4 ST205 and thats really nice and very cheap insurane and thats running over 300bhp aswell.

My other mate has a Mazda MX5 turbo.. No idea what that is like.

i would say go for the golf gti turbo, ok there not big bhp but can be with a bit of tuning, or may be ( a small maybe) a rover coupe turbo, chep to buy an tune an insure,

other then that try getting ur miss's to insure it on her name an put u n hers, my m8 told me this is what he is doing an has saved hundreds,

Not true, you could buy either 150 or 180BHP petrol engine from 02 onwards.

----Edited by webteam---

u must be paying over £300 a month look in parkers price guide or a make power mag, look up the insurance groups of all the cars u like, get a quote on a few, will give u a rough idea on what cars will be what,

get a sport and spend a couple hundred making it look like a turbo and put the rest in the bank for a house/bigger house. seriously, you are wasting your money.
