I wandered into our local Woolworth store too, hoping to see some bargains. I don't know why I bothered, though. Over the last few years, they had been selling some pretty substandard stuff IMO. Anyhow, I bought a tin of sweets there. It was reduced from £7 to £6.50. I thought I got a bargain! The next day, i saw the same tin (regular sale, no offer ****) for 5.99 in Spar! I was ruthlessly conned under the name of closing down sale Anyway, I am pleased to have bought a small 2009 calendar for .80p at discount price there. It was .99p before, you know! Very pleased with my calendar bargain, I have to say.

Anything that will be sold to the public at 50% of RRP should be offered to the staff at 60% of RRP. The company makes a bit more money and the staff get something to ease the pain of redundancy, everyone's a winner.

(No doubt the taxman would p155 on those chips though )
