Never confused, never confused
Haha! You swine!! I'll have to tell him that one, he will laugh and then slap me in your absence, I'm sure
He ends up working in Kingston-Upon-Thames, Woking and Staines quite alot (all filled with a high % of idiots) but has started working more doors in Windsor, which is much nicer apparently (especially for amount of posh-tottie, of the female variety ).
Looking at this post again, wow, I've gone to town on the smilies, lol.

Same experiences here, half the bouncers in my town are small time dealers of both recreational and training drugs.

Clubs now are scared of issues and the law etc. Door staff are as mentioned better behaved. 29 years ago in Hereford. there use to be a guy who most thought was a hippy and possibly homeless. Would walk around mid winter in sandels etc. Long hair and looked like a vegetarian jesus !
one day he was walking pass "Cherries" disco and a "new " bouncer got verbal with him and started to abuse this guy. The guy just walked off , But as he did the bouncer spat on him.
what took place next lives in history, 2 of the bouncers new the guy and backed of quick. the mouthy one and a dumb one stayed! "Jesus" split the guys head totaly open. The guy was lucky to live. The other one got away with a broken arm, leg and jaw.
Bouncers these days are all too aware that a knife etc can be so fast a deadly. They tend to be far more polite and use brains rather than muscle.

Hate to break it to you, but he was not special forces, he said he was, he wasn't, but you would never know anyway, even if it he made it ML he would never tell, if he did, he wasn't.

This place is strange sometimes. Reading some of the replies questioning the OP...no smoke without fire....were they being gobby etc.
Just last week some people on here were going mental that police officers had 'roughed up' a 'hero' and were saying it didn't matter if he'd been mouthy etc he didn't deserve that. What's the difference here? The OP and his mate didn't deserve what he says has happened to them at all. Behaviour like that from anybody can't and shouldn't be excused by saying things like no smoke without fire...you should've just left etc.
To the OP, hope you and your mate are ok.

Im ok, my mate has a few bumps and cuts on him now, but other than that hes fine.
Back to the point though, what some people have said on here is that sometimes people do deserve a slap for things they have done, and im not saying thats wrong, but to me somebody deserves a slap for doing something really bad, not just being a bit too drunk etc.

NL use bouncers like that to drag 80 year old members out of their conferences just for saying one word! Then the police hold them under the prevention of terrorism act!

I'd rather walk away at any given opportunity every single time. Certainly, if a doorman asked me to leave, he wouldn't need to ask a second time. I have to say that I'd rather leave than end up in a scuffle on their terms, on their turf, with their associates only a phone call away, even though I'm bigger than all of them! If you get "involved", these things always escalate and violence is guaranteed!

What a load of tosh. Bouncers are not coppers, hence the lack of uproar. Not saying what happened was OK at all, but no one knows the full story and I have my doubts about it all tbh.
It was not bouncers like that that Nu Labia used to eject the old fella at a conference, just some dimwitted yes-men.
As for my mates mums bf, yes, he was ex special forces, I don't give a **** what people say about them never telling anyone they are etc.. He doesn't scream about it down the town and only a few of us know, even me saying it on here makes no difference as no one here really knows me, as far as I can tell.
Stop being such a bunch of pansies!!!
You can't jump to the defense of someone, knowing only half a story, like I said earlier.
Anyway, some doormen act like fools and spoil it for the rest, same as coppers, well, same as anything really.

A family friend is ex RM and was in the SBS. At the time you could only do three tours before being RTUd and he did two active and one in diplomatic protection. He is an old fella now and he was wounded in Aden as a special, which means that he would have left the service (as most do when they were faced with returning to their unit) in the late nineteen sixties. He doesnt wear an 'Im in the SBS' tshirt, but he is rightly proud of his service record and it is not a secret in way regard.

All bouncers are the scum of the earth IMHO. Tripped out on their own pathetic sense of power. I'm just glad I seldom have to go to establishments where they have these cavemen on the doors. After religious fanatics and people smashed out their eyeballs on drugs they are basically the most unreasonable humans on the planet. Many times I have been in a situation where I'm sober, calm and talking the queens English to explain to them a set of particular, and reasonable, circumstances and they will 99.99% of the time not listen to a word you have to say.

Fair enough, you've had bad experiences. I wonder why you've been in so many circumstances where you've had run-ins with them though. Hmmmmm.

Never been in a fight in my life mate.
Also, my friends are all total pacifists so I never had to worry about any of them kicking off, squaring up to people, etc. I've also not had any experience I'd particularly call, "bad". It's just like OP said, if a bouncer takes it in his head you look sus, or have done something wrong, or he just doesn't like your face/group then that's it. You can explain that you are not excessively drunk, that you are not angry, violent or looking for anything other than a few drinks and some laughs with your buddies and it won't make the blindest bit of difference.
FWIW one of my mates was a bouncer for many years so I heard the stories and I know some of the sh*t they have to deal with. However, I could even see how the 'power' went to his head slightly. I think my key objection is that they routinely tar absolutely everyone with the same brush and assume that anyone trying to enter the establishment is armed to the teeth with knives, doped up and looking to kill someone The last 5 years of my life I've been aged 25-30. I don't want to go out much at all and I certainly don't want to go boxing when I do. If I rarely find myself in a nightclub it's usually to follow the crowd and I'm more than content to find a nice quieter corner to stand in with my mates have a chat/laugh and hopefully watch some drunk tart fall and expose a tit or something. However, most bouncers will treat you just the same as some spotty 18 year old burburry wearing chav eyeballing every male in the room like he wants to nut them in the nose.
That's my objection.

Personally I've not had any bad experiences with doormen, maybe I'm just lucky or whatever. I'm the same now though, I'd sooner relax and have a quiet drink with pals.
Again, I think it's the few overly violent and aggressive ones that spoil the image for the lot of them though. As more regulation comes in, there seems to be a better bunch being put on doors now anyway.
