There are plenty of low paid, low skilled jobs that would be suitable for prisons to integrate into their facilities. We have an estimated 2m (+/- 5m) migrant workers currently filling many such positions whom could be sent back home in favour of giving work, training, income and possibly a future to our own peoples, and maybe relieving a little of the financial burden of the prison system from the tax payer.

I would not bother with christmas or any celebrations for prisoners.

As it is prisoners allowance per head for food is higher than that allowed for school kids - go figure that one out...
Indeed is is substancially more per head than schools and hospitals for that matter too.

My brother in-law is a prison officer.
They've got the best be everything.
XBOX PS3's etc etc

Bring back the arrowed suits and send them out to dig trenches

I think the problem with this thread is YOU!!!!

A criminal is still a human being, their punishment is the loss of their liberty, nothing to do with greenpeace or lentils, it's just a fact.

The way you carry on makes you no better than the criminals that you want tortured and mistreated.

FFS WE are supposed to be civilised

funnily enough quite a few prisons across the uk actually allow this, and some prisons even have cooking wings where the prisoners can cook their own food

I'd doubt they're maximum security though.

You cannot say that on SN because you will be called a daily mail reading right-wing liar and trouble maker.

It is simply not true, they live without luxuries, well except the odd takeaways
