You would be putting legitimate Companies out of business as you are effectively subsidising the prison work by providing rent and business-rate free workspaces and no utility costs etc.
There are plenty of low paid, low skilled jobs that would be suitable for prisons to integrate into their facilities. We have an estimated 2m (+/- 5m) migrant workers currently filling many such positions whom could be sent back home in favour of giving work, training, income and possibly a future to our own peoples, and maybe relieving a little of the financial burden of the prison system from the tax payer.

A criminal is still a human being, their punishment is the loss of their liberty, nothing to do with greenpeace or lentils, it's just a fact.
The way you carry on makes you no better than the criminals that you want tortured and mistreated.
Personally I think prisoners should be entitled to buy food out of their own money
funnily enough quite a few prisons across the uk actually allow this, and some prisons even have cooking wings where the prisoners can cook their own food
