Spoke to the sales guys yesterday & told them to go look at the Navara & its alternatives. They can make there own decision.

The worst thing about the L200 is the looks
Its makes a bugeye scoob a design god!
The original L200 had a good rugged look to it. . . . but the newer ones are hideous!
What on earth was the design team thinking when it chose those stupid curved lines
The rear bed looks like it started to melt and droop down!
I'd want proper pimp tints fitting to an L200 to drive around in one so nobody could recognise me!

The original L200 was square, dated and very, very archaic.
A turning circle like the QE2 and unbelievably noisey.
A bit like a Navara, then
Why would you want tints all round? Because you is a minga?

But women don't what you look like when you're hung like a horse
It helps to have a few quid too!
Just for the record, I wouldn't have another scooby again....
Las one was brand new, but even though I'd spent all that money on a new motor I then went and had all new suspension fitted, new tyres, new brakes (BIG discs, 6 pot calipers, braided hoses, upgraded pads), new exhaust including header (removing ALL cats) fitted, new induction hoses, new injectors and fuel pump, new air filter, a remap, new gauges and other interior mods, new spoilers, side skirts and scoop, etc etc etc all done within 3 months of being new. The reason was the standard brakes / suspension were rubbish and the performance was dull.
Looking back it was a waste of money as I didn't keep it that long before I got bored with it and sold it on for a LOT LESS than it had cost.
But its only money and was fun at the time.
Compared to that, I really love owning and driving the Navara, and don't have to worry where I park it, or how I park it as its not going to get keyed.
Anyways, each to their own, I like my Nav and would deffo have another one. Can't say that about most vehicles I've owned, though I thought the wifes CRV was good when she had that. Her Merc aint too bad, but it feels too much like a tossers car driving it.
The ONLY car I'd swap me Nav for is a new 911 Porka, not fussed which as long as it wasn't a GT, has to be 4wd as "B" reg 911 Carrera I had in the mid 80's was very tail happy in the wet.
You gottat love them Porka 6 cylinder engines
Oooh looks like I'm waffling again, must be the drink!
Nite

The L200 was lower powered the higher powered models I was told were remapped versions .I drove both(power) versions the higher spec/power L200 I drove was a demo with every option and it just didnt seem as good in any area as the Nissan. It was worse on fuel and did not like the car trailer on its back! No way in the same league! imho
My Nissan is able to be mapped if so to gain extra 26bhp and 30 plus ftlb of torque and will gain further still on economy the divide beyween the 2 would widen further.

My experience of the Navara made me turn around after about 2 miles of the test drive and go back to the dealer, never to return again.
It was so very, very appallingly bad.

I'd second that. The drive was bad enough, but when the salesman said "Its been made a lot more American looking and..." At which point I cut him off and said "I've heard and seen enough, how do we get back to the show room"!

We all differ ! I had the same reaction to the new hilux and I was gutted, waited for the new 3.0 d4d to come out picked up the invincable for few days testing , .....
could not wait to take it back was really not for me shame really cos' still maintain it had the most refined power delivery and best gearbox but I was at odds with driving position the seats were awfull, load bed to hugh to lift heavy loads onto and a few other niggls.Spec poor given cost close on Nissan it did not have all the toys.
Strange that findings and taste differ so widley each to ther own and all that.
Reckon I will be keeping my Pathfinder for a good while yet I have not seen anything to tempt me away aside from the Disco 3 and that £*** puts me
off big time!
by teh way what was so bad about the Nissan drive wise if you dont mind me asking and what did you buy/compare it to..out of interest?

Just found a lease deal. £170 a month (plus vat but that doesnt matter) for the Platinum edition. It has leather so it'll do. Just waiting on someone coming back to me with final details.
Thats a cracking deal if its correct.
