So there

Now speaking as someone who watches more BBC4 than ITV and has probably seen more Open University than Coronation Farm i have to TOTALLY AGREE WITH YOU. That performance bought a big tear to my cynical eye. That Alexandra is absolutely amazing.

Yes the producing is a bit simplistic at times (the formulaic sad piano music/sad story for 30" in each of the VT inserts, padded with uptempo beats either side) but that pales into insignificance given that ITV spent a fair few quid on it and did an amazing live production.

We need more expensive live telly and more Alexandras! You had to be well chuffed for here - if you are man enough to admit a bit of emotion that is.

Back to my old cynical tightarse self and I do think it is ridiculous to charge 50p for a phone call and then make everyone do it all again after one of the top 3 is knocked out and they are down to two. That is profiteering and well out of order in my opinion. Relatives and friends rack up massive phone bills over these things as you can phone in as many times as you want - that aint democracy. Someone I know spent £700 as their daughter was in Last Choir Standing.

Watch but keep your hard earnt I say! Now where's my tissues?

D

PS did anyone else think putting the 'out of tune hopefulls' VT after the amazing Alex/Beyonce song really bought the whole thing down Could just be me?

At least these days you don't get the "It's too close to call, so phone in now" message thrown at you every 5 minutes

When we all guessed that in fact someone was a million votes ahead

They didn't do that this time, the originals all still counted.

Alexandra was the best of the bunch on TV but only one voice in a genre that has a plethora of similar people in it. Prediction - 2 albums then Butlins and cruise ships.

I backed Alexandra to win from the start so I'm delighted.
I'd go so far as saying she sung better than Beyonce last night, she's going to be a real star

I never liked Leona Lewis but saw a talent in her. This Alexandra girl is much more down to earth - less diva - and is a much bigger talent. I think she has big, big things coming her way. Unlike Leon from last year -- did he even get cruise ships or is he strictly done butlins?

I reckon so, eggnog had just gone and Dermot said something like "lines are unfrozen, your votes from earlier still count".
