Do you just not see what they say or do you not see their posts at all.

And what happens if someone quotes the person you've ignored.

The only person I've ever come close to putting on my ignore list was that ex-webby bloke
If you pop someone on the ignore list then you don't see their posts, you would see the following:

If someone you have ignored is quoted, then you will still see their post, as evidence above, as I've quoted you and you were on my ignore list, only so I could answer your question.

I don't have anyone on my ignore list. My viewpoint is that you should not need to add a user to the list. Report the user if they are stalking you, or posting utter tosh. It is possible you are not alone, thus more complaints mean the web team may well do something about it, which would aid all users.

Cheers Markus.

I Guess it might be more useful to have some sort of feature whereby the Mods would identify those likely to post up tosh (Based on past performance) and for users to be able to ignore all users likely to post up tosh - Rather than having to idenify each nobber for themselves.

Can't see me adding anyone to my ignore list - especially as ex webby is immune

I guess the problem with that would be, what is tosh to one/some is not necessarily to others.

SN is full of many different people who all like different things/people etc.

I have never had anyone on ignore, I find it quite easy just to 'manually' ignore anything I am not interested in. A little more difficult as a mod though.

No problem at all

My thought on the feature suggestion would be a vB modification that looks up the user accounts that are on peoples ignore list and if, for example, the same user is on ten or more different users ignore lists, then the user in question is placed on the global ignore list (Tachy Goes To Coventry). This means none of their posts will be seen by any users.
