Not to mention the good old 20G.
My car made a ball hair off 400 with an AF 20G on v-power recently.
That was at 1.6Bar on an STI 5 open block.

Already running 10% for track
Sometimes old school is the way forward. Tried, tested and refined.
It pulls like a train!!!
I was almost down the MD route till I spoke to a few folk - then I saved myself a fortune and went with the 20G. Have not looked back.
My mate has a very similar spec to mine but with the MD321H. Nothing in them TBH. So for me it comes down to cost.

This will soon be rectified as I will be running (as soon as the car is finished) on Area52's new DD RR (along with PowerStation's MAHA, AET's DynoPack and Zen's Dastek). Anymore for anymore!
Should be a fitting conclusion to the Project Articles. Well..... until I decide to do something else.

Yes, both have our sleeves. At up to 500hp I don't think they are needed, we have tuned many cars to 500 on open/semi closed blocks (apart from the open deck EJ25) without issue. Above this and you have to be a little more selective in which block you use. Plenty of big power cars are running on unsleeved blocks, most (obviously) using CDB's.
However we have found better results with the sleeved blocks. As an example, after 3 years in mine & 150 dyno runs, the compression figures are within 1 psi of each other and power is good. Without the sleeves the results may have been 'different', but I very much doubt that the engine would have 'failed' in any way.
Best not mention I use a reground crank
Jase.
