hi guys i use an evo8 fq320mr mapped to 396hp as my daily drive which my wife uses for the school run and have a v2 sti ra that is stripped and caged and makes 402hp as my track toy.
i used the ra on the road once and nearly killed myself, never again but on track its really sure footed.
i have tracked the evo once at coombe but the electronics took some of the feel away.
tbh if its scoobies its gotta be a classic, overall sorry its mitsi for me.

Ive had an Evo 6 in the past and in my opinion the build quality on the Mitsubishi is far better than a Subaru, the interior feels a lot better quality and more solid with less cheap plasticky parts rand rattles, the bodywork feels more solid as well as if its had a thicker coating of primer and possibly more paint.
The difference between an Impreza and an Evo is vast like many will tell you on here, the Subaru delivers a more raw aggressive feel with its power along with that distinctive boxer sound where as the Evo is more refined in its delivery and a lot smoother. You have to be careful when driving an Evo because it lacks a distinctive engine roar like the Impreza has so you can be doing a fair speed before you realise it because everything is so smooth and you get little engine noise.
If you can i would experience both in your life, both are great cars and they both do things a lot different than the other.

Just got rid of my Evo 6 GSR for my STi 6, and I must say the Scooby feels much more raw, along with better mpg, insurance and overall running costs and nearly half the price of what I sold my Evo 6 GSR for.
I didnt feel connected with either of my Evo's (6 GSR or 7 GSR) But loved my old Evo 6 RSX(view my scooby<<<<<<<) as it was the equivalent to a Impreza Type RA.
The GSR's just didnt excite me as I expected a Evo to, everyone always seems to think that the Evo is the stepping stone to the Scooby as I did but how wrong was I, You always see scooby owners go to Evo's. But I dont think its the better car, a Evo is always more expensive to buy to the equivalent age scooby, and with the more expensive running costs, It does make you think is the extra money really worth it.
If I had to own another Evo it would have to be a RS spec car, I wouldnt waste my time with another GSR spec car!!!!

I've owned 2 Evo 7's FQ 300's in between various Impreza's.
Evo's were extremely quick in an aggressive way, however, both had gear selection problems at high speed, they are difficult to drive slowly, (jerky), and for me personally not an everyday car. Nice to have one as a second car maybe.
