Utter ***** imo!
T1-R's are good tyres and I have been running these as road tyres since 2005!
They are good enough to handle over 500ftlb torque on a hard track orientated car, being used on the road. They also enabled me to get 9th at this years ScoobyLive Handling, which was the quickest time for a car on normal road tyres.
They may not be the best, but they are bloody good imo.

That would of been interesting..... but the plan was to be as normal road basis as possible. Even the suspension was changed from the track spec to road spec. Saying all this, the tyres probably cost me up to 3secs against something like a 888, which I normally run for track.

I only use Toyo R888's for both track and the road, 17's for track 18's for road, best tyres ive ever used not as bad in the wet as you think

Yep.. 888's are fine in the wet and can give better grip than normal road tread. It's standing water they don't like..... but I can't say I have ever known a tyre that does!
I think I will look at trying another track tyre in 2009 as the 888's go off way too soon for my liking.... but then at least it disciplines you to cooling down, which helps the entire car when on track.

Your right Shaun the 888's do go off on track but are perfect for sprints/hillclimbs which i do, people seem to go for the Yoko A048's for track use.
