I took my gf (wife now) to Mauritius.
Arranged a lovely beech dinner (candellit etc)
After main course got down on one knee with the ring and asked her to marry me.
She said yes of course and we have now been very happily married for 2 1/2 years.

Proposed 3 Days before we were due to fly to Canada for a skiing holiday in Whistler.
Driving home from my brothers in the scoob, Mrs T4 could tell something was on my mind and I just blurted out something along the following lines... "you know to get married in Canada you need to have x,y,z"
Got home, showed her all the emails of me organising everything that was required....
8 days later we got married on top of Whistler Mountain in front of our ski instructor, his friend, her 2 friends who fancied coming along, a photographer, wedding commisioner and her hubby![Big Grin](images/smilies/biggrin.gif)
And no family / friends to worry about "if they're having a good time"![Thumb](images/smilies/thumb.gif)
Been happily married now nearly 2 years and our daughter was born 5 weeks ago on Monday

Well after meeting my now wife in a Kebab shop in Aylesbury (classy I know) I thought I ought to make an effort for the engagement.
I took her for a suprise weekend away to Turnberry Turnberry Resort, Scotland
I managed to arrange a champagne picnic in a private suite (opened out onto the grounds so we could be outside weather permitting, it is Scotland afterall
) to surprise her with, once we had accidentally stumbled across the picnic I proposed (i'd even chanced it and bought the ring).
She said yes of course (she would have been walking home otherwise
)
It turned out to be the most enourmous picnic I've ever seen!! It was about 6 courses!!
It was a great weekend and we've been together about 9 and a half years now.

New Year's eve 1999, on Calangute beach in Goa.
I had a local jeweler make the ring to my design, wasn't sure if I'd been stiffed but to be honest wasn't bothered as it was about the moment.
We had to get it valued for the ins. co. in UK and it came back all good and the value was more than the holiday cost me.

I wish that a knew what I know now when I was younger
