They can't have had evidence that she was actually using the phone at the time of the incident. Otherwise she'd go down for much longer.

Looks likely they've used the txt'ing and phoning evidence to illuminate her state of mind and approach to the journey as a whole. i.e. Careless/dangerous.

Sounds like an almost identical penalty for the woman that killed my mate.
She got 1 year in prison, and 2 years driving ban, for a similar offence.
