But to be fair Rob, you have had problems with other cars you've owned though (mechanical rather then accident damage)

that's why I buy new cars because subaru warranty takes care of anything that breaks during the course of ownership. Plus i get to enjoy the technical advances with each new model I buy.

Not sure where you are trying to go with your post but I have had minimal technical issues in all cars since my first 98 turbo2000.

Gansta - as per my post above surely the subaru warrenty is void 1 because of the modifications and 2 as you are not having it looked after by a main dealer? unless xtreme are of course approved by Subaru UK for servicing etc? just curious as not heard of a main dealer authorising warrenty claims unless the service history has been kept up to date and by a main dealer.

Matt,

As far as I would be concerned personally, I would rather take my car where people have a few years under their belts, mechanically wise, rather than some YTS trainees that you usually see at main dealerships.

I am also of the opinion that as long as a car has been serviced adequately and using the correct parts (even pattern parts that are rated as the same as OE), there should not be an issue with regards to warranty. You could argue that Subaru (or whichever Motor Manufacturer) have a monopoly over who can and cannot service your car.

All IMHO obviously.

Edited to add ...... On a non molested example obviously

Does anyone know how long it takes to change the clutch and flywheel?
I've heard 4 hours is the norm.
Candice's stepdad works for a firm that sell exedy clutches and as mine needs replacing as well I'm wondering if i'd be better off supplying the clutch and flywheel myself as I can get them at a decent price

paul at xtreme changed mine in about an hour, but that was without incident. there are always unexpected things can happen with cars and bolts!!!!

highly recommend them though as they have the best facilities and experience available to get things done in good time!!!

When did I say that a main dealer doesn't service my car ... ??? I just said that the only people I would ever let touch any of my cars is Xtreme. As to the warranty question you brought up I don't recall saying anything about modifications either.

As I don't come to meets anymore I can forgive you for suggesting inaccurate information about my vehicles

hmmm still can't see where in that i said that my car has been serviced and maintained by an independent garage .... no point trying to catch me out my friend you need to be up a lot earlier and a hell of a lot more brainy to do that. Don't figure me for an idiot just because I lark around.

Actually Matt, I read it that Rob has such a good opinion of Xtreme that they are the only people he WOULD let work on his car.

Nontheless I'm sure you're going to sleep better tonight knowing you've received forgiveness from Gangsta

Thought there was an issue with your new one, hence you missing the recent track day with RobRoy ??
