The liquid in the gauge is oil, designed to dampen the needle to make it easier to read.
It is not fuel.

sorry to hear you've been done ..

I've bought a couple of things off members on here with no problems, I have been offered one or two items by this harry fella but didn't purchase in the end as I didn't feel confident in buying from him. I think you just have to look out for yourself at the end of the day

Problem with blocking his for sale postings is that he PM's a lot either offering people bits if they post in wanted or offering to buy stuff for basement prices.

If there is a suspicion about him then he needs to have an 'Account Under Investigation' slapped on him so that member's are actually warned. Just monitoring his postings doesn't reall go far enough.

well iv heard nothing via a pm from him, and he has been online, so is ignoring me. its in the hand of paypal for now. but i only live 2 hrs away from him, so if its not resolved nicely, then the only other way i can see is a rougher approach. fill car with the biggest rugby lads in the team and go on a day trip.

I posted that i needed a MAF for my car and yesterday got this reply.

I have an almost brand new one mate. bought it but wasnt the fault..costing £267 + vat. will take £150 delivered.

Regards
Haroon

Guess who ?

Sorted one anyway, but he seems to be online to still pedal his wares. After sales service seems to be a little lacking though.

i personally just think its just unfair for the genuine sellers (clearing the garage out etc) and of course the paying, advertised sellers.

there have always been disputes on here regarding goods and ethics, but with the number of people / transactions going on, hardly suprising, however most of them seem to be resolved amicably (after a good old-fashioned witch hunt!!!)

i do hope this products get distributed as expected and that will be the end of it.

as for being able to see anything out these mirrors, thats another story lol

happy xmas all !!

harry007 refunded me the difference which im very pleased with. so feel pretty sh*t for starting this thread, the guy couldnt apologise enough and explained the situation clearly too me. so a big tahnks to harry007. not as bad as feared in the first place, but as im sure harry007 will understand no one likes being stepped upon especillay with money involved.

so i apologise to harry007 for this thread had he had recified the problem with no quarrel.

i just hope this sets a example to

a- people who delibratly rip people off, other people wont stand for it (harry007 didnt delibratly attempt to rip me off)

b- people who jump the gun like myself to have a little more patients and give people more time to reply.

thanks again harry

Urm cheers fella but the liquid was actually fuel! We took the regulator apart and it was leaking through the bolt holding the gauge in place, and was then seeping into the cracked gauge.
I initially thought it was saline or whatever it is they use in gauges... but after having my mechanic check it out a new fpr was sourced and fitted luckily.

I think there should be a trader rating system implemeted, as per other forums. I've bought from certain members on here that I'd never entertain using again, it might help members in the future.

I think this would be fantastic and certainly a good start for the Market Place....will also encourage people to trade more....

Might even be worthwhile SN seniors to discuss a members protection policy with paypal...it may not be possible but it's a thought.
