Hamas are nothing but zealots, and the Israeli Government arn't much better. Both fighting over what is supposed to be some of the most holy sites on the planet. Both indiscriminately targeting civilians; the only difference is one uses rockets and suicide vests - the other uses multi-million dollar strike aircraft; neither gives two ****s about collateral damage. How anyone can defend the behaviour of either is beyond me.
I'm just ashamed that our country was responsible for creating this mess in the first place by arbitrarily seizing Palestinian land in the 1940's to create the Israeli state.

But they are in the mess....... What can they do ? they have a duty to protect its citizens etc.

Option A - get shafted, lose your land, get stuffed in refugee camps and treated like dirt; do nothing.
Option B - act like a man and show the world you remain unhappy to have been shafted by the Brits and continue getting shafted by the Israelis.
I was always told to stand up to bullies, fight back, and generally it does work...
It is however a bit like the 10 week old puppy that kept nipping at my 5 yr old dog's heels over Xmas. Generally he was very tolerant of the little 'un, but once he gave a bit of a chase and the puppy cried the house down. The Palestinians are just doing what most of us would do in their place, puppies or not, IMHO

i mean people who like myself question our foreign policy and that of the USA as well.
more than 70% of my friends are Muslims etc so i dont see how i am going to be a racist ! and my ex wife is Muslim to.

If every 2 countries that had ever had disputes carried on like this, every country in the world would be at war.
Can you imagine if Scotland had elected a terrorist group as their government and launched 8,000 rockets at England? What would our response be?

If every 2 countries that had ever had disputes carried on like this, every country in the world would be at war.

no ..your wrong !! I dont see why people need to use terms that are deemed racist . trying calling a Arab a "RH" in front of a Police officer and see what happens. I have had the luck to live in many countries and know what is going on. I am white (just in case you think i am not etc) and have served in HM Forces so "wars " are a little more interesting to me than some people.
Ive seen racism and experienced it (thailand is one of the worst) In dubai etc i was horrified at what goes on. Singapore/HK also
yes we have issues in the Uk with immigrants and social scroungers etc. But i sometimes feel i am reading "coded" racist remarks on scoobynet. something i do make a point of addressing. sometimes in the wrong way. And sometimes when we get mods like "puff" who nail it quickly and been Polite and i edited my post to try and stop any replies to what i said about the racist comment. because we had been asked nicely by a Mod who has earned his place
And you use the term "paki" that in 2008 is obvious to most as been a racist comment . Do you think all scoobynet members are white and go to church on sundays?

) you may feel morally duty bound to arm yourself and have a go...Also, your perspective may be different if you had lost your farm and livelihood (as some 'Israelis' wanted to acquire it and turn it into a kibbutz growing apples) and then been moved to a rat infested concrete hell hole of a refugee camp mate?
There really needs to be more empathy with the plight of the Palestinians IMHO. If their land and life hadn't been taken by the far mightier, and in collusion, then the suicide bomber concept may not need to have been invented... Dig deeper before you condemn them all using the simplistic term 'terrorist'.
