I remember when the attack on Iraq was mooted that some people on this forum could not wait for the war to begin. They too were talking about looking forward to watching it all from their armchairs on TV.

They seemed to go a bit quiet when they realised the mayhem and destruction as well as loss of lives which resulted from the "Shock and Awe" tactics!

It's pretty horrendous imo, especially when the loss of lives are considered trivial from both sides.

However it's interesting to note how the media and papers are justifying that 1 israeli life is worth 300 palestinian deaths.. 3 months of rocket attacks and two or three israelis died? - compare that with the 300 in the past couple of days and probably double that from the collective punishment that has taken place on the palestinians.

Yet no one noticed the systematic collective punishment that has been going on with the various block aids resulting in an almost entirely crippled group of people - you corner someone like that and they will try to fight back, even if they only have stones and rockets.

I don't think either side ever had any intention of settling for peace, on the one hand you have this incesent racist attitude and policy in the israeli goverment and then on the other hand you have a desperate group of thugs who have no intention of serving the palestinian people but to fuel their own desires.

I laughed when I read the excuse for starting the attacks just as children were leaving school - BULL****!, it was a deliberate act to cause as much outrage and provocation as possible by maiming and killing small children (not that this is a new thing, kids get snipered all the time in that place).

I wonder what body count it will take before people start to say "enough is enough, this is mass genocide"?

This thread just typifies the SN usual revolutionary Armchair warriors, armed with their trusty keyboard, and Tabloid Newspapers.

No-one on this thread can relate to the Palestinians and never will be able to. The usual SN muppets are just taking another opportunity to take a swipe at Muslims as usual.

TBH some of the responses in this thread are pretty pathetic. With very little knowledge and a tabloid, an SN member's assumptions are pretty dangerous and as per usual wrong.

Whatever anyone says, there is no way anyone can justify what they are doing, if it was to a group of people who perhaps followed a different belief then the SN Consensus would be the opposite, however anyone that's killing Muslims can't be wrong can they?...

Anyone with any humanity cannot justify the killing of a nation who has no army with tanks and rockets.

The demographic base of this forum has degenerated so much over the years it's appalling. 1st time I've seen this thread, and last time I'll post because no doubt the usual suspects will carry on babbling with their drivel, as they have obviously been out to Israel and seen how much suffering there is in the country, and apart from wikipedia they have obviously studied into the history of the country and the origins.

If your going to argue something please use some facts, not something that's been picked up on a google search or a tabloid paper.

Of course the rockets should stop...but what then? Locking in the status quo with a ceasefire favours only Israel as they have everything they want, territory, power and no just settlement.

Well the first fact is that there has never been a nation called Palestine.
Not under the Romans, Ottomans, Brits and what have you.
Between 1948 and 1967 the West bank and Gaza were ruled under the aegis of Egypt and Jordan - no talk of a palestinian state then - this waited until after 1967 when it then suited these two states (who currently turn their backs to their "brothers") to call for statehood.
The above is not very palatable perhaps, but does have a relevancy to what is currently going on.
