Grid online is cool, there are open sessions you can join and I haven't joined one with knobbers yet, just some good racing.
Haven't done private sessions yet.
Burnout Paradise is getting hammered on line at the mo, CAF if you get a good dozen and have a few races and challenges.

Sorry you couldnt get a 360 RB5 but everything happens for a reason. Your 360 prob would have broke out of warranty or something!!
Hope you have many happy gaming hours with your new PS3 mate!!

I'm using my PS3 more than my 2 360's now. Using the PS3 for all my video streaming from a media centre and all DVD's as it upscales which I only just found out Plus I got a couple of Blurays for Christmas.
I never thought i'd say this (as i'm a 360 fanboy) but the PS3 is a quality piece of kit and like the way everything comes with it as opposed to having to buy kit as extras with the 360 - wireless adapter, rechargeable batteries etc plus bluray. My 2 360's get used by the Mrs and my eldest more than me now.

So you don't use the PS3 for gaming? It is a quality piece of kit, but I hardly ever use mine. Been playing a bit of LBP recently though
You may find (like I did) that the wireless adapter is useless for streaming HD video, so I had to wire mine in anyway (I'm using some homeplugs which seem to do the job). Makes the inbuilt wireless a bit useless really. Wish I could have bought a version of the PS3 without it...

Use mine for PES09 which I thought the demo was better on than the 360 in terms of shiny graphics. Can't stay off it, only game I play currently. I haven't got any HD content to stream, only download in SD as can't be bothered with waiting to download HD stuff (only got 6mb throughput so would take ages to download). The SD stuff streams perfectly but what really impressed me is when I turned on the upscaling and then put on Casino Royale and it looked stunning. My DVD player can be removed from the cabinet now as I don't think it will ever get used again.
Oh and I really want to play more of your favourite driving sim GT Prologue but only play it with the race seat/wheel and it's major pain in the rear having to bring the seat downstairs so haven't been on it in ages. Haven't even tried any online gaming with it yet.

BTW must give Uncharted top marks. What a game for £15. Fairly simple puzzles mixed with a few more tricky ones. Graphics are top notch for such an early release game. Ive done 50% in just short of 5hrs play but have only found about 8 treasures it seems (out of 60 ).

for online functionality xbox 360 is ahead but sony is closing the gap.
sony are starting to get some good cheap downloadable games (like XBLA)
i've got both but the ps3 takes pride and place in the lounge cos its blu ray which was a major factor in me buying one.
the one i bought was an original 60gb version which plays ps1 and ps2 games from ebay brand new for £400

Great choice
I got mine about a month ago and love it. Just finished Uncharted which was a good game, if not a bit easy
Off to get COD tonight so that'll be me for the next few weeks

It is fine. Not as slick to use or as fast as the Live store (and has a fraction of the content), but it's easy enough to use.

for fans of Uncharted, they're finishing Uncharted II at the moment and it's looking wonderful. Here's the teaser:
