Wheels should be spot on tony, i'll have a proper look in the morning but should do the job nicely whatever they are like. Good to see you again too, lovely T20 you have there.
John,

Tony
ps
i did see his 22b come up sale in last 12 to 18 months only other times i saw His 22B Harg was in it.
Rumours reckon it been stuck in limbo since he passed, it took years to sort & overhaul.
Auction pics showed it with the imfamous Steff,s old CK1 numberplate.

Hi Tony, I found out about Richard passing away when i chatted to the person sorting Richards old car. It was bought needing a lot of work to sort it out (been stood for years and run into the ground prior) and he did that before selling it. I wanted to fill the blanks in and find more info before posting, just to make sure i got the details right as i hadn't found anything official about him passing away. Our mutual friends in the USA didn't know until i told them recently. I found his obit which lead me to other info.
There was a legal case in Australia about his estate which needed sorting, sadly he died just as he was in the process of separating from his 2nd wife and because of that Richards kids found themselves cut out of his estate by his wife. That was only sorted fairly recently after initially the judge ruled in his wifes favour, then on appeal that was turned over. As usual the lawyers got their massive chunk of flesh.
When Richard bought his 22B and then RS200 he asked me and Harj to look after them, after using the car on track once at Richards request i found out Harj hadn't organised the insurance i paid him for to cover me on track. I blew my top as i couldn't afford to fix a smashed up 22B and had paid him the money. The last straw was when we did the RS200 and the infamous nurburgring trip. I had agreed to help Richard find and buy a good RS200, but what happened is he came over from the USA and did a deal on Harj's say and had bought it without me knowing a thing about the car or being able to check it for him. It's was a nasty one i would have told him to avoid after i saw it, too late of course. So straight after that we set off to the nurburgring, Harj blew the 22B up on the way there, then the RS200 went sick, supposedly the night after the trip when parked up in the garage after the trip was over and we were back in the UK. Apparently it was perfect when parked then it wouldn't run properly the day later.
Richard flew back to the USA but asked me to check the RS200 engine, so i bought some new plugs and drove down to fit those, as they had a habit of going off. I pulled the old plugs and they looked in a right state, i then went and bought a compression tester and did a check, that showed the engine was knackered, zero compression on 2 cylinders. At that point Richard asked me to take the car to my house and strip the engine but i said i wanted nothing more to do with the car and suggested he take it to Geoff Page, who knows them like the back of his hand. Geoff called me up to tell me it was the most knackered RS200 engine he had ever seen. I have the photos from that Geoff sent and the head and block was scrap due to massive det damage. I was pretty pissed off that i was lied to about the thing being fine when parked, so at that point i stopped being involved and left Harj to it.
Last time i saw Richard was when i visited him in Seattle, when i was out there to do another rally, he moved out to Aus not long after, the 22B remained in the UK, he sold the RS200.
Richard was a lovely guy, far too trusting.

That's the short version.
Did he pass 2011.
i knew you were both very good friends. I sure met him at Olton Park & Donny 1999/2000 as you say far to trusting. Always Lawyers get fatter and everyone else gets pittance
I heard it needed a shed load spent to restore, think it was only advertised/Displayed with the CK1 plate. So good guess at who helped. I think sold with the one below. Harj was with it at Donny then.
