I have a Forester S Turbo and I can assure you its way sub 10 try nearer 6

A lot slower than my old MY03 but hey I'm not complaining

i have had a lot of what i thought were fastish cars. back then my 205 gti did 60 in about 8 seconds (only a 1.6, couldn't afford the insurance for a 1.9. it did gave the 1.9 alloys though). i thought that was so fast. things change though. most people would crap themselves in a really fast car no realising what they have. i don't drive my subaru on the road much now, just too fast. mostly just pootle about in it, take her out on sundays.

It can be hustled along, but you have to stir it, which I do!
We used to have a GLS Auto: slower and thirstier than the manual. 0 - 60 was slow but it was always acceptable and never really felt underpowered.

A mate of mine used to have a 1.8 non-turbo diesel Escort. I don't know what the 0 - 60 time was, but at motorway speeds, pulling out into the third lane to overtake a wagon took some considerable planning. 60 - 80mph acceleration was a bit like measuring tectonic plate speed.
