No there was a Classic Car and bike restoration show at the exhibition centre but was a good reason to get the 22B out and give it a run and show it off.

Well, I couldn't wait any longer to get some photos taken of my car, so I thought sod the snow outside I'll just do it any way. The eagle-eyed amongst you will recognise it as the car featured in a comparison test with the new STi 330S in December 2008's EVO magazine (as submitted by the previous owner).

It's #95/400 and is pretty standard (eg. engine, brakes, exhaust, wheels) and has full Jap and recently UK service history covering its 48,000 miles. It now gets used on fine days just for fun.

You like???

That was the look I was half-heartedly trying to replicate. I always remember the 22B Subaru advertisement of the day that appeared in various magazines: it was a dark studio shot taken from directly above the car and really accentuated the width of the car (front and back) compared to the regular classic shell of the time. It's not possible to get that angle without a cherry-picker, jet pack or something, so my shot doesn't do the rear justice. Does anyone have a copy of one of that old advert that they could post up on here?

Despite my fond memory of that advert, I guess it was hardly a marketing success for the 22B with only 16 Type-UK cars sold! Still, it probably influenced plenty of buyers to go for the regular Imprezas of the day.

When they were new in Japan they came with the picture of the car from above it so you could see it in all its glory,I have one put away in its tube,if you go on 22b then go on images you can see it but I couldnt paste it
