Clutch Judder!
#31
I must admit sometimes that reading these boards makes me wonder if I made the right decision in buying a Scooby.. One of the factors for me was reliability, (My partner drives it during the week), as well as wanting a drivers car...
However, there does seem to be extremes of the spectrum.. People with modded cars who tend to be more 'enthusiastic' and seem to have more problems, brakes, tyres, clutches etc etc and the standard brigade who have the occassional 'blast'. The car seems to be designed well to cope with the rigours of normal life but mods do seem to take it beyond the original design spec...
I would guess this justifies IM's reluctance to give warranty to modded vehicles!
Just a general observation and not suggesting all problems are mod related.. Clutch wear is often driver related.. Some people burn through them..talk to any fleet manager and they will have examples of same model cars doing vastly different mileages on clutches and brakes...
