Did this a couple of years ago - hire company wanted £1,000.00 deposit / security. Paid on my credit card.
Company pulled a scam by claiming the motorhome had been damaged whilst in my care (which it wasn't!).
Still on going 2 years later via the credit card company.
The motorhome co. has now gone bust!

Be VERY careful - and take pictures of the motorhome on its return inside & out with the date and time shown on the pictures.

It is just these tales which would stop me from going ahead with the offers. The temptation to 'concoct' damage is just too tempting for some!!

Imagine the situation whereby the MotorHome Renter is also part of a Motorhome Repair Centre? As is the case with one outfit ....... they have £1000 Deposit and maybe they claim that you have bent a suspension arm or some such thing - you hired it, and returned it, in Scotland and live on the South Coast of England (difficult to return to inspect) .... they deduct £800 for parts and labour and send you £200 back eventually.

Now call me fatty ...... but that shows where you could get well and truly stitched up! No damage at all but a convenient estimate and invoice for the non-work from the linked repair centre!

Nah, I'll keep my £1000 well and truly where I control it myself - thanks all the same
