If you hide the car-jackers body, your insurance company does not need to know that you've been car-jacked...

Living in Northern Ireland fortunately we do not see too much in the way of car-jacking off the street(lots of armed police and soldiers)but we may have the highest rate of "joyriding"in the UK.Lots of people have said "shoot the B**tards"but this is a reality in NI.These hoodlums are shot in the legs etc by paramilitary organizations for anti social behaviour but then claim off the Northern Ireland Office and end up driving a nicer car than you do.Alternatevly they end up in a young offenders centre learning how to get round more sophisticated security devices etc etc.The government in my opinion should take the american example in the case of car theft i.e grand thieft auto which I think is 5-10 in jail not fuc**ng community service(no time off for good behaviour).I could also tell you a true story about someone catching one of these sub-human scum trying to steal their car biffing him and ending up being charged with ATTEMPTED MURDER,but this makes me really angry

mick-s, valid point about NI, but without dragging this off topic the paramilitary shootings are only to protect the highly profitable trade that the paramilitaries have in stolen vehicles, drugs, extortion etc.

Agree with the FUBAR attitude of the authorities to car crime.
I happened to run into the cop who had taken my statement after a car jacking, after i'd told him i'd got an insurance pay out and bought a new Scoob his response was "well it all worked out well for you then". I daren't post my response to him on a public BBS.

"A lone woman, at 2am (I think!), lonley road, in a Merc."

Pete with the application of your inimitable cerebal logic I'm surprised you didn't advise us that... She was asking for it!

Two points:

People do have the right to defend their homes against burglars, people have got away with kicking the **** outta them in the past I'm sure. Some guy (a farmer I think) even shot some-one, not sure if he got away clean though... Some cars are worth a **** load, why should it be any different.

Other point: For anything substantial to come from a Hijacking there would have to be witnesses. If there are witnesses, then it will be proved that little sweet Jonny got what he deserved. If there are no witnesses then the world is your oyster...

A wise man once said: "Killing someone, thats the hard part. Getting away with it, thats easy. As long as you're not there at the scene of the crime with a smoking gun in your hand."

I WILL NOT LET THESE KIND OF PEOPLE PUSH ME AROUND!!!

"Thud." -> sound of me dismounting the soap box... After strangling some-****ing **** **** after he ****ing tried to ********* me and my ***** car

Edited after I noticed you can't write sh 1 t when you mean chitt.

pslewis - wasnt there a P1 carjacked last year by a bunch of t055ers in an Escort RS Turbo in Guildford (Surrey), who hit the P1 then nicked it. It is not quite an epidemic, but its getting worse nd its country wide. It happens all over the place.

Edited to say that there was also an M3 taken from a lady on this BBS too in Surrey i think.

Dan

I know what you're getting at with the farmer, Tony Martin, was convicted of killing one and injuring a second career criminal.

It had not been the first time that the farmer had been the target of criminals and took steps to defend himself and his property.

The shootings took place in the farmers house, so no argument about the criminals being in his house.

Initially he got convicted of murder and got life.

After an appeal and huge public uproar the sentence was 'reduced' to 5 years and manslaughter.

Human rights, and all the other liberal soppy sh1te we have in the modern society, is all well and good but it's about time criminals had theirs revoked.

There seems to be a dim view by the courts that the police are there to deal with the criminals and members of the public are there to be walked over by criminals.

When the public turns the tables of the criminals, suddenly it is the criminals that are the victims of society.

Unhappy

Plewis were I live which is a nice typical suburban family area out of the city center we had in the last 2 weeks 1 car jacking and 6 houses broken into so they could get the car keys and take the cars.

The police officer I spoke in the Impreza said "If you get chance in this situation have a good go at them its thought by the courts to be reasonable force."

As for moving why, the criminals use cars to get to were they are going to commit crime and as for car jacking you might be in a strange area on business.

So to some up, don’t use you car, don’t be female, don’t drive at night, move somewhere were there are no other people and for that matter don’t leave the bomb shelter you bought from the government.

Darren.
