I looked at ViPec - he had a version running on his own STi 2006 but not yet avail in uk
Also looked at Hydra but I didnt like the software - thought it was counter-intuitive.
Motec is the daddy but whoah at the price when you take AVCS, datalogging, DBW etc in the package price

Adzer - Going by your first post i'd guess you have a budget in mind???
I'm no mapper or expert but I have looked at the same options as you.
I'm guessing that you are kind of deciding between the Apexi PFC and the Simtek. (Around £1000 - £1200 budget??)
I currently have the Power FC fitted to mine at circa 400BHP but I also have an AVCR.
So by the time you factor those two costs together you are not far off the price of a Simtek. Add a couple hundred more and you can have the Simtek.
Its a change I'd like to make as it would allow me to have another fuel map.
Although I must admit the hand controler on the PFC is a great advantage. I constsntly look at it to see what max knock I have had after a run. Its also hand when diagnosing some problems.
There are other reasons to chose the simtek if you can strech the budget to it but basically -
2 fuel maps with Simtek only 1 with PFC
(although you can have 2 boost maps with the PFC if you also have an AVCR)
The Simtek gets rid of the MAF sensor
The Simtak allows you to add (at extra cost) Anti Lag and launch control.
(Although it wont be full blown launch control on your road car)
If money is no object and you want to have 4 full maps to swich between etc then Solaris seems to be flavour of the month. I believe thats what Wuz will be running. But that shows the level of motor that the Solaris would be used on.
Hope that helps a little.

I doubt whether there is a definite number, joz.
What are the numbers you see whilst the mapper listens with detcans and pronounces it safe? Take that as your safe number, and look out for any deviation from that.
Mine shows 7-8 routinely, and about 11 under hard use. It's very consistent. Zak described it as 'quiet as a mouse' as he removed his detcans.
Simon - this is the STi6 RA Lim that you mapped when it belonged to Andrew in Caldicote Zak didn't remap it, he just did a quick check after fitting a wideband for me.

Simon, I don't know if you remember me [mapped in late Aug/in Leicester LE3 area/you commented on how my silver WRX was like your other one/"worried about on-road mapping" then hooned afterwards! lol], but do you still have my map on your laptop? If so is it poss to consult it to find out what value the CEL is set to flash at?... Unless, of course, you can remember off the top of your head

No, you've got me all wrong Simon lol.
I was only bouncing off the limiter because I was fiercely concentrating on not driving into the back of anything when we were mapping the upper reaches i.e. not concentrating on engine note/looking at tach. I'm a knackered 40-year-old - 'muti-tasking' is not on my horizon
IIRC, you set the rev limit to 7050rpm to save me from myself
