1st step is to search Pistonheads or similar to try to find similar spec and condition cars to your own and print examples of them.
Send a copy of these to A Plan and ask them to get the insurance company to re-assess the value.

If this doesn't help get an independant engineer to inspect the car and give a valuation. You might have to pay for this though.

Im with a plan, and when i delared the mods, they said they'd pay for the mods, at full value, basically double the standard value.
I take it you delared everything?

Whatever the valuation I'd try & go for a cash in lieu settlement (if they're thinking of writing it off)

the damage is very small, but the problem is that the assor has put a very low value on my car. hopefully on monday, the true value of it will be noticed, and it will be fixed.

sorry for bad pic

if its just a keyed panel and a
vvvv small bump
then you know you could consider doing it yourself.

At the moment you stand to lose your excess, the car will be recorded as a potential total loss (CAT D?), loss of ncb and you have the ball ache of fighting your corner.
I dont know what your excess is but its something to weigh up

Very briefly it's where the Ins. Co. will pay out an agreed sum (-VAT) & you get it fixed yourself (& claim the VAT back)

A guy at work has just done it with his MX5 (it's a MK1 ltd edition) & he really wanted to keep it (virtually concours condition) ...looks similar to your damage i.e bumper/bonnet/headlamp ...assesor & repair centre reckoned £2.5K! ...think he sorted it (using S/H parts) for £900 iirc

CIL is also non recorded

On a side note ...is your grille knackered?

gutted for you mate, was that your car on the cover of jap performance mag last month?

i'v also had similiar bad luck, small dent in door broken wingmirror, broken wind deflecter after some drunk too his anger out on my car, i've had around £150 compensation from him so far, and thats been a year to get that, someone reversed into my car at a junction 2months ago only dented the bonnet at least.

i didnt go through the insurance company on both occasions to save my ncb and it would have cost me a total of £1000 in excess anyway,

hope you get it sorted your car was a top example of a grey scoob

any luck sourcing a cf bonnet yet?

am getting really fed up now, car has been damages since new years eve, and off the road on the 8th.

if they just priced it at what it is really worth, it would be getting fixed now. and none of this messing about.

i am going to stand my ground though, i dont need my car for work or anything, just for fun. so i am getting set in for a long battle if needed, but i really hope it wont have to come to that.
