After I got involved in a long thread about dyslexia, After talking to a member on here about there kid having it and telling them about how I have done really well for myself despite dyslexia. Some people on here, Even ones that contributed on that thread STILL mock my spelling.
Text speak, well that's one thing but people that are not natural spellers and make a few mistakes, People that use this as a bit of fun and don't have the time on there hands to trawl through, bumping up there post count by correcting spelling and bringing nothing to the table... Well its speaks volumes about them, Far more than some grammatical errors speak about me.

I'm not very good at football. When my mates laugh and say I've got 2 left feet, do I throw my toys about and say it's because I'm disabled? No, I try again.*

Cna yuo raed tihs? Olny 55 plepoe out of 100 can.
i cdnuolt blveiee taht I cluod aulaclty uesdnatnrd waht I was rdanieg. The phaonmneal pweor of the hmuan mnid, aoccdrnig to a rscheearch at Cmabrigde Uinervtisy, it dseno't mtaetr in waht oerdr the ltteres in a wrod are, the olny iproamtnt tihng is taht the frsit and lsat ltteer be in the rghit pclae. The rset can be a taotl mses and you can sitll raed it whotuit a pboerlm. Tihs is bcuseae the huamn mnid deos not raed ervey lteter by istlef, but the wrod as a wlohe. Azanmig huh? yaeh and I awlyas tghuhot slpeling was ipmorantt! lkie ****!
Now if you car read other post, and the spelling is not 100% why do you feal the need to comment about it. If you can spell 100% well done if you have trouble so what, them that complane need to get a life. I could give you a web site that only 50% of them can spell, but like above all you need is the first and last letter to read it. I'm pants at spelling but i bet i have a job that pays more then most who can spell. As i dont need to spell.
Anyways rant over

Its about time this forum had a good debate, rather than replying to half wits asking " What"s the best BOV for my Scooby "
We should start a poll and find out who is sharing the brain cell or who has their own...

Well actually ..... there is, as the apostrophe is possesive as in for example Huntingdon's disease and so forth..
Of course if there were more than one **** being referred to, the apostrophe would be after the s.
That's enough pedantry for one thread.

The brain is capable of much more than we are led to believe but generations of indoctrination being told "you can only function in this way" or being taught sub-standard knowledge that ultimately works against the way the brain and the mind works.
I read an interesting article ages ago where an athiest (the infadel lol) smartarse reckoned that the conscience mind is just the result of all the 'mechanical' actions going on in our brain.
The trick with that jumbled up text btw is to read it quicly, just scan left to right and your brain does the rest, if you pause and focus on the words you get stuck
What will always be a mystery is the female mind..

Scooby Senior
The owner of 'The Range' could not read or write, numerous stores later and a few million quid in the bank showed it did him no harm.
There are a few people on here that take pleasure in correcting punctuation and spelling almost gloating with their superiority which is sad imo.
I would much prefer to see less block capitals and readable sentences over word perfect spelling.

hmmmm sooner or later this discussion always rears its head
gentleman of old .... which language is your preferred i wonder? .... proto-english based predominantly on german, old english developed from our anglo-saxon roots, middle english taking it's influences from french and celtic plus of course introducing latin or perhaps it's what's cited as modern english dating from the 15th century which seems to have become a standard predominantly courtesy of written / printed texts becoming available at that time? Of course not forgetting that even with that, "our" language STILL took influences from others such as Greek and Latin, is STILL noted for having regional dialect variances and is STILL known for having poor variations of spelling against the original sources that much of our dialect was taken from.
Simple fact is that ANY language and in particular English is a constantly evolving thing. It's almost a phenomena in some respects and is even now being compared to the way that biological organisms develop too! .... If some of the greatest academic minds in the world are able to accept and deal with this (even Cambridge University has a large amount of works dedicated to the evolution of the english language!) why can't you?
Life is evolution. Fact. You evolve with it or you get left behind. Personally I don't profess to like text speak particularly and I do find it annoying to hear 14 year old white kids wandering down my local roads (a predominantly white and middle class or higher area) talking like they're little black gangsters from the ghetto hood in the bronx! (please don't think that i'm racist in any way by that comment as i'm most definitely not! - have many friends from all over the world!) It's not laziness though, it's evolution. What many (myself included to an extent) consider to be poor spelling is also a part of it. It's how our language has developed from its early proto-english days to what it is now.
As for those that can't spell due to learning difficulties .... I wonder if those making a fuss would care to suggest a wheelchair bound person may be able to walk instead if they "simply tried harder"? An extreme example but valid since dyslexia can be just as savagely debilitating as any other "Special Need" (term used knowing that many with needs find it offensive but it is unfortunately the currently considered politically correct term). My cousin is heavily dyslexic and struggled extremely hard to make her way through education. An inability to spell doesn't make her the stain on society you seem to be implying though .... consider if you will that since she's a carer for the old, that one day you may well heavily depend on someone such as herself to help you with the simplest of tasks like wiping your own a$$ .... will you care then whether she can spell or not? I think perhaps not!
I'm all for having a cheap shot at little "gangster hoodies" over their use of the English language and what they're attempting to have it degenerate too but leave the people struggling to spell through no fault of their own alone eh? It's nothing more than playground bullying and frankly, those that profess to have intelligence because they can spell should also be intelligent enough to be above such childish antics.
meh.

Having an (lame) excuse is an easy way out.
* Should I have used 'an' in front of the brackets? I think so, but am happy to be corrected.

The 'an' is correct because it pertains to the word following the parenthesis, but the sentence has become confused because you're trying to get the 'an' to do too many jobs. If you'd put 'extremely lame' in the brackets it would have worked better.
