Im not being funny but.... the people/companies who design exhaust systems spend £££££'s on research to get the best from specific systems on specific vehicles, so some 'jo's' idea of a 'freeflow' system can/will be detrimental to sound and performance, common sense yeah! My advice, for what its worth, invest in a system of your choice and get the best from ya scoob

LOL; guy at the end in the vid... 'How d'ya stop it?'
I wonder if he realised he got in the wrong door!
Seriously though, sounds like a war zone coming out the back of that! If that lad still wants to swap for his standard STI system, I'd do it if I were you and just pick a backbox up from somewhere...

GC8, is there really any need to start slagging me off (speaks volumes as to the type of person you are)
I dont need to justify myself to anyone, least of all you, but you know nothing about me and who I am and what I do. I have been using and contributing to this forum for a very long time (this is my second user name, and no I was not banned with my first) and just because I decide not to troll and/or post useless crap on here to get my post count up, you assume that I am a newbie.
Now, if you werent so focussed on trying to be superior to other people, you might get what I am trying to say. I dont doubt your knowledge in any way, shape or form and I do know what Jasma is.
What I was trying to say (speaking from personal experience) is that given the noise that the OP's exhaust is making, replacing the cat or resonator section will not quieten it down enough to satisfy them.
I had a Prodrive backbox professionally fitted (not dodgy welds or missing baffles as you seem to think) and then in turn removed the resonator section and then later on, removed the cat from the downpipe. Whilst this did make the system louder, it was not by very much at all, therefore knowing that the Prodrive back box is about the quietest there is, that was an obvious suggestion for Kareena.
I am sorry if you misunderstood me, or just think I am a know it all newbie, I was merely expressing my personal opinion from personal experience.
This forum has had more than its fair share of issues, and when "knowledgeable and experienced" members like you start slagging people off for no reason, is it any wonder. I am surprised anyone dare post anything
Lets draw a line under this
Jason

Fact; Resonators are made to resonate sound...
Fact; Catalytic Converters double up as resonators which, in turn resonate sound...
Or maybe car and exhaust manufactures have been getting it so wrong over the years

Well if someone on here said it, it must be gospel. I must have been dreaming while looking and listening to JASMA rated exhausts. Are you honestly suggesting that a Blitz Nur Spec backbox (thats JASMA rated) is as quiet as a standard exhaust? Thats funny.... Do another joke.

That exhaust sound is ridiculous.
If it was in a movie it'd be bl00dy brilliant though. It sounds as if it's going to leap off the car and eat some small mammal - cat or dog or small child.
I'm both appalled and entertained by it. But I wouldn't want it starting up in my street every weekday morning...
