Anyway, pumpschmump.

The guy will get low 3's, but would achieve better results with a full decat/sportcat (and possibly a pump ), then about 320-340.

flippin ek, its all very confusing for me......anything over 300 must be good anyway......

would you expect more gains from a jdm twinscroll with full decat than from a uk type?????

taken from andy f site
01-05 STI 2.0 UK/EURO + 01/02 JDM STI /RA STD 265 BHP

Level 1 300-330 bhp

Sportscat exhaust from turbo back 2.5 or 3” bore
Walbro 255 l/hr uprated fuel pump
K+N panel filter
Ecutek custom remap
Twin boost set up for high/low power switchable in-car

the pump is not 100% needed,my mate in his 03 wrx running vf35,pink injectors full decat, standard wrx intercooler, standard fuel pump mapped at powerstation made 328 on there rollers. as stated its just for safety/headroom, more so if your car is starting to clock some miles up on it and the pump maybe starting to get tied, last think u want to be doin it running it flat out.

My 05 UK STi had an uprated fuel pump fitted as part of the PPP kit.

I think most tuners recommend an uprated fuel pump even on the newage STi once aiming over 300 bhp. I can't imagine them fitting it to the PPP if they didn't need it.

I have got an 03sti with full Milltek exhuast and a powerstation remap, i imagined the increase for this would be around 300bhp? i would be over the moon with 320bhp.

Since then it has had a K&N short ram induction kit added which could add a bit more, or maybe its just sitting there plotting a scheme to destroy my engine

the Standard ppp setup can pull reasonable numbers see here

the fuel pump is not essential however it is so cheap and easy to change it is often worth changing it anyway.

Fantastic Thread guys - Thanks so much..

I going to get used to the car and enjoy it the way it is for a while - I am planning to take it on a tour around scotland in early June hoping to put Tein's on it and remap by then...

Out of interest...

The car has both CAT'S still in place but then is straight throught cat backwards to the afterburner backbox..How loud will this be ? Will it annoy the neighbours if left running outside their house etc etc...

And what about once It's sports CAT in downpipe and straight throught to backbox - how much louder will it be ?

Cheers

it will be considerably louder.. but sometimes our neighbours have to suffer a little nice noise a couple of times a day to over come the boredom of their day

i have sports cat and de resonated centre and afterburner back box and it sounds , it probably would be annoying to leave it running outside for a while. Its not real loud until you put your foot down and i've never had any complaints from any neighbours. drive steady for the last few miles and you won't have to leave it running to cool down.

you pays your money you takes your choice.
Some of what you say is not strictly correct. I have probably had more experience of dyno's than most people on ScoobyNet and I have found out quite a few things over the years.

Whilst any type of dyno can be very inaccurate, in my experience (of the ones I have used) they seem to be much of a muchness (apart from a few exceptions).

Rolling Roads can vary - but in my experience, not by much (5% seems to be the norm).

Road Dyno's (like Delta Dash) can be as accurate as a RR dyno (read in to that what you will), as long as a number of environments are constant and level. Using constants you can get very close between Delta Dash and a good RR output. Duncan ran his car on Delta Dash and I estimated his flywheel power based on his Delta Dash wheel power figures. I was dead on the money when he ran his car on Zen's RR.

Hub Dyno's give hub figures not wheel figures, so no point in trying to cross reference. Hub Figures will be more than Wheel Figures, as you have less losses on a Hub Dyno. In my opinion these types of dynos can give the most repeatable results.

As you say.... you pays your money and you take most things as an estimate, but they can all be good methods of reference (if used correctly).
