Crashed my Scooby
#32
I had my 53 plate Type UK STi stolen, April 2007 with 26k miles.
Got £13500 for it and that was older then than yours is now, though I have had two total loss claims (don't ask) with Direct Line, and they have come back with really good prices both times.
Whereas with Churchill (don't ask... again !), I had to reject their offer several times before I got somewhere near, and still was not really happy with it.
Keep at them.

Got paid 9700 on my 54 plate WRX with 21k on clock, was 3rd offer so definately worth it to keep trying - i was very polite throughout, dunno if that helped or not!
Look like similar damage - was not me driving, car was TWOC'd by car valeter - a long story But the year before had similar incident to you on a wet country road, was lucky in that only minor damage to car and none to myself (other than pride!)
But you will get over this and get another scooby - good luck

Glad you're ok.
I know what you mean about people not believing what you were doing.
I wrote my Sport off just following another car on a wet road that I use every day. The back end just snapped round and before I knew it I was backwards into a tree. Everyone at work just said "yeah, yeah, yeah". Scooby Impreza = Speeding nutter. I was takin it easy, dodgy tyres.

Thats more like it, who were you with ?
As I said, Direct line have always been good to me, but things like this are not on our minds when buying insurance.
