Nothing. Clear blue sky.

Another attempt by the BBC to create panic comes to naught. Still using phrases like 'arctic weather conditions' and 'snowstorms from Russia' to describe a couple of degrees of frost and a possible inch of snow.

Just come in from making snow angels in the garden with the kids.
No sooner had I used all the snow up off the cars to throw at them, it snowed some more so I could do it again

Well it doesn't take much to cause chaos. A bit of settling snow on the hills heading out of Brighton and some fool in a BMW appears to have killed himself in it. Way too fast in the outside carraigeway of the A27 on laying snow = disaster. What a waste of a life - just to try and get ahead by a few car lengths.

Well you can relax, a 4x4 is better for traction but not necessarily for grip unless you have the correct tyres on so your excuse is valid

My ickle Fiesta 1.6 Zetec-S is on 17s, with P-Zero Nero's with under 500 miles on (both the car and the tyres, before you ask), it's wheel spinning like **** this evening. I wonder what it'd be like if I turned the traction control off?

I'll be going in my front wheeled drive beast while the proper motor stays tucked up in the garage I still don't think i'll be at work long even if I do make it.

Keep track of the snows progress at Meteox !

Just started coming down good'n'proper in Wakefield. We had about 1/2" dusting up to now, but lots of big flakes now blowing in.

Keep an eye on motorway webcams with THIS

I may gloat about the +40 temps in Aus but bizarrely this is the first thing that has made me homesick for the UK

Always loved a good old snow storm and it looks like you're going to get a proper amount this year.

Pfft about 5mm here (w.mids)

Still, I've been for a quick drift and a doughnut in the works car park.

They should ban gritters...they've only done one side of the roads, and ran out completely on others. Its more dangerous with patchy ice/snow than if it was all snow and ungritted

Good one on GMTV this morning! Weather girl said "there could be a foot of snow here, and 12 inches elsewhere"

Love the way the news report it in the worse possible way as well, just to make sure they terrify you!

The BBC Girl had that beat.

She said "There could be up to 6 inches of snow in some places - And even more in others"
