That left us with 500 orders to process in double quick time. Working evry spare minute and then some we got about 450 out the door in the alloted time and put the rest of the stock on the back burner, not literally as that would be silly. The fate of the remaining unallocated ones would b dcided at a later date once we have fulfilled all the existing orders

Once we had cleared everyting that was outstanding we used some to send to the companies that supported us like Roger Clark, Autosportiff, PowerSupply and Litchfields, we even gave one to Thames Valley and Warks Police as a thanks for tier valued assistance on the day.

Sven mysteriously appeared as stock in our shop and we fulfilled they orders at the original stock price and that has left us with some left over.

What happens with the remaining stock will be decided at a later date and if we decide to list them on Ebay then it is a decision i will stand by.

Sitting at just over £53000 raised i will do whatever i can to maximise that short of selling my ar$e, i am considering selling a kidney but no way am i doing the bum thing, not even for charity

Hope this explains everything rearding the prints

Thanks

i still dont understand.
the Prints that we sold through our shop on the Gathering website were £40...

if the folk that listed Prints on eBay had a "Buy It Now" for £40 then I wouldnt have had a problem with that and we wouldnt have ended up in this situation....

we've tried from the very start of this event to make it a non-profitable event and that every penny raised will go to the McRae Vision charity.

our original intention was to give one sticker per car (not each person which is what actually happened) as a souvenir at the end of the event, as folk were saying that the registration stickers were too big to keep on their cars permanently and they wanted something smaller.

after the event we ended up with 200 stickers that were not given away.

We had already paid for these and were not prepared to have them sitting in a box when we were getting emails from folk that didnt get one (left early, didnt make it etc etc)

it seemed daft not to sell them.

hth,

If i had followed your line of thinking for the while event i would have raised about a Fiver.

The donation is not being handed over by McRae Gathering PLC it is being handed over on behalf on Subaru drivers worldwide. That means you as well and would you not rather the amount was for the most it could possibly be or just a half arsed attempt that cullminates is us handing over a couple of grand and a cheesy smile.

Thanks

this is a very emotional subject to us all, the girl selling the print on ebay owns that item, so she should be able to do whatever she wants with it.

the original donation was made when the print was purchased?? she is not interested in what it stands for so its her choice.

for example.... lets say john lennon's mini came up for auction and the proceeds went to a charity now let say i owned that car and wanted to sell it on...should i keep the money?? its a tough call is'nt it?

personnally i think she's a victim of extremely bad timing on her part.

i have one of these prints, the car sticker (large and small) for sale...offers??

dream on im keeping it

can you please answer this one:
why did you charge me £7.00 pounds for postge for this print...??
and why did you only pay £5.05 pounds post mine..??

can you tell me what's happened to the £1082.25 pounds and pence
that peolple have paid towards thier print and were thier monies has gone to.

gone to charity i guess..
Can you expand a bit on the figure of £1082.25 and how you arrived at it.

£7.00 postage and how we arrived at that figure even though the package states £5.05

Let me explain so that you are crystal clear on this one

Tube that print was contained in, price for 1 from Staples £1.95, bought in bulk from Ebay cost us £1.04 for each tube. Now at £6.09 for the Special Delivery and the tube the print was contained in for protection. Now there was the labels and the bubble wrap which looking at the reciept from Staples was £440 in total so that works out at roughly (520 packed and shipped prints divided by 440 pounds) 84p per unit shipped for packing tape, labels and bubble wrap. So let us add up the costs, thats £5.05 for the Royal Mail Special Delivery service, another £1.04 for the 3 inch diameter tube and another 84p for labels and stuff

£5.05
£1.04
£0.84
-----
£6.93

It cost £6.93 for us to post each print out in a secure fashion and we charged £7.00 for the pleasure. The extra 7p that we "overcharged" times 520 prints shipped equals a staggering £36.40

Since day 1 postage has been charged at a figure that does indeed cover the costs and no more. The only exception to this is the current sales of the A1 poster which we are charging £3.00 for delivery Domestic and £5.00 International and the true costs are a tad more that what we were charging.

You caught me at the perfect time as i have just spent all day trawling through receipts and payments made. Working out how much we made from what and who we paid what to and even more surprisingly how much i paid out of my own pocket to make sure this event happened and that it made as much as possible for the McRae Vision.

Here to help

Grant

I have no issue whatsoever with genuine cases but it is the ones that purchased the print with the sole intention of selling it on Ebay for profit that i have a slight issue with especially as i am the one answering the emails from the ones that missed out when they were released.

i agree the poor girls taking a bit of flac even if she makes a small donation from the proceeds, even a fiver then good on her.

my 2p on this one, I would have prefered to have seen all the prints the mcrae gathering had to sell on their website for £40 apart from the special numbers ie: 1, 550, 551, 552, 553, 554, and of course 555, apart from the ones that you gave to the supporting clubs and police forces. which again should have been numbers 2 upwards, the lower numbers going to those who gave the most support.

I think it would have been a much fairer way of doing it and there wouldnt be any of this silly back biting now plus the genuine enthusiasts that really wanted one would have had a better chance of getting one at the same price.

unfortunatly there was always going to be people buying them to sell them on, to do this I would have limited the purchase to one per person or one per postcode, whichever was easier to implement.

steve the comment about postage was pathetic, it was clear the tubes and the packing was part of the price.

I think the team have given their all, and in hindsight its always easy to make someone elses decision after they have done it.

my advice with the remaining few, if its not possible to put them on your site put them on ebay at £100 buy it now, get rid of them, get some more cash in the pot and get rid of anymore hassle.

after all this **** I doubt they will ever be convinced to organise another gathering of mcrae fans again, so to all the haters, well done

I have a cunning Baldrick plan.....

If you were unlucky & didn't get a print you might like to try this;

Ask a friend if you can 'borrow' their number & take a couple of piccys of it.
List it on Ebay - making it clear you have it advertised elsewhere & reserve the right to withdraw it at any time.

Sit back and wait - within 24 hours the McRae Gathering Team will list one also - all you have to do then is be the lucky bidder......

Oh yes, and don't forget to remove the listing you put on (or your friend might not be best pleased!!)

Good Luck!

For all those who are currently having a sense of humour failure this is purely a light hearted gesture to lift what is becoming a serious attempt at undermining what EVERYONE acheived in Colin's memory (not just a few).

Are we missing the point. The money raised is for a great charity, Full stop. No one has been mugged for the money for a print. Everyone that was there knew the deal, and if they didnt it wasnt for lack of information.

If its put a bad taste in your mouth, then sell your print and keep the profit. If like me and hundreds of others you see that there is a MUCH more important undertone to this then maybe this thread can be closed.

For the record, I didnt get a print after the day. I paid for one of the last 5 off ebay. I am glad that my money is going somewhere useful.
Good work grant and all the team, you certainly have my blessing.
