Holy ****, thats messed up.
FAO everybody else ....its worth having a fire extinguisher in the car to prevent this from happening
This would have happened to Killers car at the MSOC meet if it wernt for
M444GY's quick thinking and the use of his fire extinguiser
hope it works out for you mate

firstly im glad you got out ok!
a sad sight but the car can be replaced
on the subject of extinguisers is there anyone with contacts for a group buy on the rally style plumbed-in systems? a flick of a switch and the engine bay sprayed and more importantly the cabin.
possible insurance reduction too????
its quite scary how quick your car went up!
cheers steve

Peter Lloyd Rallying is the best place from which to buy mechanical plumbed in systems. Id suggest that you have a 2 litre AFFF hand held mounted in the cabin too; or a 1kg powder type at the very least.....

Sorry sight to see your own car burning away like that but as long as your ok i guess as from the amount of fire you mentioned i would just walk away, a fire extinguisher in a fire like that could be dangerous to tackle unless it was caught really quickly.

Thats a terrible site. At least you are OK.
Re: fixed fire systems. I would agree that they are a good idea but they are a bit like roll cages - if you got them its assumed your going to need them so insurance would probably increase.

Ouch! i feel that the 500 ponies were a little too much for the engine to take but you wont know if it was catastrophic engine failure until they can look at it sounds like it though
Still, on the bright side, you can get another car and once you know what went wrong with this one, either adapt in that area or dont go that route

That scoob is mine Grieg why?
not the one in my profile tho
It wasn`t fuel fire to start with
and an exinguisher would have been no use on it, was too far gone before we stopped.
