I have two analogue gauges for diagnostics only, one a VDO and the other is an Auto Gauge.
The Auto Gauge one requires a restrictor in its piping to damp the response (the t-piece supplied with it has a restrictor in the tee-off for the gauge). Without the restrictor the gauge will overshoot and the needle jumps about so fast I expect the gauge would be damaged if used like this.
Check if your digital one needs a restrictor, and either way refit it to the turbo outlet or the manifold (not that DV piping)

So do you think basically it's a problem somewhere with the gauge or pipework

Just putting this link in so everyone else can get all the info

https://www.scoobynet.com/general-te...-question.html

In post #13 of the above link you mention a 'small inline filter', is that by any chance the restictor mentioned in the above post#31 by c_maguire and if so do you have it on the correct side??

In answer to your last, yes obviously a problem but until you start to change the plumbing we will not know if its gauge or pipes.

Think I know wich one you mean, it's fitted to the front of the inlet. It's fitted to a peice of metal pipe that comes out the front of the inlet manifold, the metal pipe bends down at a right angle then the vacumes pushed on.
If you could please confirm this.
Also I will have a look to see if the "T" peice has any type of regulator, and if the inline filter should be fitted so air flows one way or the other.
Thanks very much for your help

Yes. if you have a spare 'nipple' coming off the inlet manifold, then this is fine for a vacuum feed to any type of vac gauge.
