Am I missing something? Jade Goody has months left to live. If I was in her position I would sign up to have my ****ing post mortem on camera if I thought it would generate revenue. What, exactly, do people think wheelchair bound Jade Goody is going to spend this money on if not to ensure her kids future?

Cervical cancer screens are up 20% due to this story. Thats is an absolute positive, it would not have happened had Goody just dissapeared.

Do you know what though? I suspect she doesnt give a **** whether people on internet forums, or the public at large like it or not, I should imagine being given a few months to live gives some perspective to such irrelevancies.

With respect, the FACTS of the matter are that a girl that hasn't even reached 30 is going to die a horrible death and not see her two kids grow up.

The comments about Miss Goody's character/career/infamy are opinions, voiced, I might add, by people who've not even had the chance to speak to her in person before unleashing the vitriol.

And your right, nothing we do on here is going to change the FACTs that I've outlined above!

As I've said before, I'm not fan of the public image of Miss Goody, nor do I appreciate the whole "famous for being infamous" movement that she appears to represent. I also think BB is a waste of TV airtime.

BUT there is no way I'd wish this on her, or anyone for that matter (not even the lowest scumbag), irrespective of what I thought of them.

Why?

Because even in the face of inhumanity, one must strive to retain their humanity!

This thread serves to show just what a selfish, self-centered and uncaring planet and society we have all become.

A percentage showing their jealousy because this girl has made a few quid, when in reality money means nothing to our time here.

Another percentage showing complete disregard for what is a very sad situation.

I refuse to laugh about the Jade story or any of the jokes, I also refuse to say whether I like her or not - that would be impossible as I don't know her and never will so I can't make a judgement based on what I see on TV.

I don't know where the world went wrong, but nobody cares about anyone else any more and its saddening.

People care very much about pepole they actually know/love/respect.

I, like you don't know her, her kids or anyone associated with it. Therefore I have no need to show how much I care about. The reasons I detest the situation is simple. Everyone hated her, with good reason (you think her BB antics aren't the real her? ) but give her a lethal desease and she gets a free pass? She suddenly becomes Brave? (an insult to real HEROS/Bravery!) She can only recieve adulation, not criticism for the way she's whored herself in the media? For her racist opinions, for ignoring her children to pursue a freak show career in TV?

It's typical PC Hypocracy BS! No one cares about the kids in South Africa dying of birth given AIDS. No one cares about the kids killed in Iraqi market bombs. No one even cares about the hundreds of kids in the UK that won't reach 16 because of Cancer or other illnesses. If people DID care about those people The Sun would be paying them hundreds of thousands of pounds and have their faces on the front page.

she is going through an experience shared by many people on both here and in the general public, its often a big comfort for people to talk and share their own experience. Figures show that smear tests are up 20%, if that results in 1 life being saved then that'll do for me. You however, FAIL to register this in your brain.
The other thing i would have to pick you up on, is when you say "everyone hated her", can you please provide some evidence of this?
Hate is a strong word, one that i would use for the likes of Baby P's parent/guardian, not some reality tv "star".

Regardless of how you feel about somebody (like or dis-like them) it should still be within you to aknowledge their bravery, if its beyond you then thats a character weakness i suggest you go and work on.

No, and no-one has suggested it is. What I see is two different approaches - two people facing the same end chose different paths. One raises money for charity - giving something back to society, the other raises money for her kids. Yet the nation works itself up into a Peoples-Princess, Commemorative-Plate-Buying, Book-of-Condolence-Signing, gawking, voyeuristic frenzy about the latter. Quite simply Britain is moronic.
