Jewels in laymans terms are bearings, where there is a shaft attached to a cog/wheel it will be set with a jewel bearing.

Jewels set against a pointed shaft produces a good set with little or no friction, ensuring good escapement, therefore good time keeping.

The more Jewels the better the watch.

Lume is the night time glow given by the luminecent paint, usually a tell tale sign with a fake watch, they dont usually give off the same amount of light in brightness or length of emmission.

The best lume is found on watches fitted with tritium gas filled tubes they shine without any outside light sourse, and shine 100 times brighter than any lume paint.....see Welcome to BALL Watch.

Dont buy anything from any site that is sub $300 or you will be wasting your money.

I find this subject really interesting, I would love to see a documentary on these copy factories, and see exactly what goes on.

Why dont Rolex/Breitling/Omega etc....go to these places and shut them down, I cant believe they sit back and let it go on.

How do they get them so accurate, the watch I took to bits opened my eyes to what a ;replica; watch actually was, we are not talking 40 euro lucky lucky here.

I have found that the people selling the highend watches are far detatched from the place of origin. And you cant contact them direct, they have PO boxes rather than business addresses, and no direct phone number, if you look at the warrenty/returns its a PO box not an address.

They run 10 or more sites that are almost identical, but again different PO boxes and contact emails.

All very " secret squirrel "..

Tell me more Nat, you go to that part of the world...often, so now Im intrigued.

GUANGZHOU WATCH FACTORY
14 SHI LIU GANG ROAD GUANGZHOU,CHINA CONSIGNEE
CENTRANS INT-L INC..

6161 SAVOY DRIVE #300 HOUSTON, TX7703 NOTIFY PARTY
CENTRANS INT-L INC.

6161 SAVOY DRIVE #300 HOUSTON, TX7703

Interesting...

How the hell do they charge the equivalent $30 for a watch they can command $340 for.

Ok you need to order a thousand units but hell fire.

The next important question is....What is the penalty for dealing in this field, and I dont mean trying to palm people off with fake for real, I mean selling them as Idolreps do.

The lesbians next door gave me a Rolex for my birthday.
Very nice, but I think they misunderstood when I said I wanna watch.

Interesting thread.

Nat/Yoza, with the good copies (ie $300+) do they last well? What I mean is does the paint on the bezel start chipping off etc?

Who do you think does the best copy of a Rolex daytona?
