Classiest thief in the world?
Wanted man surrenders
"Jerry Ee, 35, allegedly took 386 timepieces from six designer brands - Audemars Piguet, Girard Perregaux, Panerai, Patek Philippe, Rolex and Vacheron Constantin - along with 194 pieces of accompanying guarantee cards. Their exact worth is $13,225,383."

I have been digging around as I have found this subject of replica watches facinating.
The below link is a factory where most highend replicas are built/assembled.
They do manufacture their own movements, but also buy from PTS, they machine their own cases/case backs/bezels/links/clasps etc, including intricate laser etch/and machine engraving.
They have advanced plating technology and can basically replicate any watch they want, on site.
They have the technology to produce everything from lenses including AR coatings to fingers/faces etc, and they use superluminova technology in their face an finger applications.
They build in a similar environment as all the big Swiss brands do.
Contrary to what I first belived they do vary their serial numbers and they are not all the same stamp for each model run.
º¼ÖÝÊÖ±íÓÐÏÞ¹«Ë¾--²úÆ·½éÉÜ--ÍÓ·ÉÂÖ¡¢×Ô¶¯±í»úо¡¢¾«Ãܼӹ¤
The below link is where they scource their highend movements from.
PTS Resources Limited
The movements pictured are only a small glimps at what they make, the movements that are aimed at replicating Rolex/Breitling/Panerai etc are not shown but are available.
They are exaclty the same including engravings/engine turnings and colouration of escapement.
There is so much more to Replica watches than first meets the eye, the harder you look, the higher the quality.
And if you have got the ***** to gamble and buy a proper amount you can buy a highend circa $400-$500 replica watch for $40-$50.
Minimum crate order applies, you can mix models in batches of 50 units.
Now time for me to stop rambling and can someone who knows tell me what the penalty is for dealing these watch from this country?
What is the crime category, tarrifs/fines etc.
Later Yoza

You'll be more likely to fall foul of the IR. Tax evasion is what you'd be most worried about.
Look at - An overview of customs penalties and excise duty penalties | Business Link
On a law side, you can get upto 10 years at crown for imortation of counterfeit goods (6 months at mags) but more likely to get unlimited fines. You could be sued in civil courts for unlimited amounts too. The proceeds of crime act applies too - this puts cars, house, other nice things etc at risk of being confiscated unless you can prove you have paid for them by legitimate means.
Don't trust anything a Chinese factory tells you by email/phone, you need to go there and grease wheels...

Better to do it as a company than as an individual. Make it hard to identify yourself as the beneficiary and they wont prosecute, so all youre risking is the capital.

Well if you got it refurbed/serviced (looked "well worn" in the pic ) it'd go for £7-8k without much bother... A lot more than if you'd waited and got the common Rolex engined one!
Lets watch this one and see
ROLEX SS DAYTONA 16520 ZENITH VERY RARE BOX AND PAPER on eBay, also, Wristwatches, Watches, Jewelry Watches (end time 22-Mar-09 01:26:04 GMT)

who'd buy a Daytona off Ebay??
1992 model.... hasn't the same strap as mine (it's only basic locking clasp), no green sticker on the underside of th watch
the real one on the left.
also the box isn't the same as mine either.
when did the change over take place to my 'style' Nat? was it '94/95?

Green sticker, lol. Don't tell me you've left yours on? Eeeuuuuggggghhhhh!
It was a real one. You won't find a fake Rolex on Ebay anymore - have a go looking........!
The One sold is your model...just with a different clasp and with the older more collectable wooden box
Rolex aren't fast at changing and like to use up all their stock, you might find older features on new watches a year or two after a new feature is announced. Once a new feature is announced the older feature immediately becomes more wanted

Those industrious Chinese have been busy this year.
They have now made a 7750 movement with running seconds at 9 and tight sub dial spacing. God knows how unless they've completely redesigned 50% of the movement. Hugely impressive.
This means they can make Planet Ocean Chronos with the correct sub dial spacing like this
Yep,that's a replica. Check out the AR! Extremely good all round but still with flaws.
They will now use this movement in the Speedmaster Moonwatch that has the same sub dial spacing (just removing the rotor to make it manual wind) AND the Rolex Daytona 16520 like Salsa's.
They're getting better.....

it's still a Fake though.. nearly as bad as trying to pass off a MR2 ferrari 355 Kit
as a real one..
You know it's not real even if it is a good copy.

why has this thread been sent to me by email notification.. after all this time since it was last active.
anyway... just been into the Mandalay Bay Hotel (las Vegas) Rolex shop ysterday and tried on the DeepSea Sea Dweller ($9750) very nice. Not a good price with our exchange rate though.
They had EVERY Rolex you could think of in any variation of colour/metal style etc.
Guess which ROLEX they haven't got and can't get hold of!!!
