Pet suggestions?

A house rabbit. We've got 3 and after previously having pet rats the house rabbits are miles better pets. Depends if you could put it out in a secure run with built in shelter during the day whilst you are out and then bring it in at night when you get home for attention.

mmm, can't beat a nice beaver!
As Sal says, ducks...got chuffing loads of them out the back and it's gonna be their mating time soon so they'll all be kicking off. You do get loads of ducklings though and they're cute as!
Thanks for all your suggestions, gonna do some research now!

Chippies are about 15-20 a piece, hyperactive lil shoites and even less interactive. lol
Face facts, the best thing about rats is, if your neighbours annoy you, get a female, let them breed, pop a dozen somewhere near their house, and within months they will be infested lol

Trying to find some pics of my first 3, they were awesome fun

We had a rat, wonderful pet, very clean and friendly and full of character. Worst thing with rats is you get massively attached to them and then they die. Ours was just over 2 and it was heartbreaking.
We’ve had a Chinchilla for about 7 years now. He is cute but not friendly and will only occasionally tolerate being handled but doesn't bite ever. We lock the doors and let him out for a couple of hours every night and he just bombs around the house, up and down stairs bouncing off the walls. Oh and they can jump, he jumped in the toilet the other week because we forgot to put the seat down. They can live to about 17.
We also have a guinea-pig, he is funny comes when you call him, whistles his head off every time you open the fridge and will sit on your knee for a tickle for ages.
I would go for the guinea-pig

and maybe a purple one. I was reading up about them all of last night. They sound like brilliant fun. Kind of dog-like in the way they love attention.
Or these two:

get gerbils,
cute, don't bite, desert animals so make hardly any waste (unlike rats/mice etc). very very curious and great fun. can be left for days on end as ling as they have food and water.
they love playing out of their cage and can be handled with no risk of losing a finger

I've had Gerbils before when I was younger, they are cool no doubt about it but been there, done that. (we had them in a glass tank with peat and sand, it's great as they can burrow away and you can see them underground, if they tunnel to the edge of the tank )
I'm really liking the Chipmunk idea, I saw them in the US, could have grabbed one! Not sure where to go to get one / two though, any suggestions, north yorks?

My partner has ferrets but they are best kept outside as can be messy and as they are part of the skunk family are smelly. Another option is lizards and the bearded dragon is an ideal one to start with as they are very easy to interact with and look after.
