I also saw the one on Piston heads - it was a Type RA-R - bit of a waste of time IMHO.... not overpriced given the current Yen/£ rate but the difference in Specs between this and a spec C standard is really marginal (guy who used to work for Litchfield imports says theres no point - might as well get a Spec C if you can find one) PLUS my classic STI5 is lighter than both of these anyway!
Having read an update for the last few hours on the GTR there is absolutely no way I'd go anywhere near one......... GT3 it is, or Spec C modded to 600bhp for Track use

I like the new RS and to be honest the base model WRX Impreza's have been hot hatch pace for some time now, but the top end models will always be quicker than things like the RS in an A-B situation. Probably get panned round a track, but who cares, cars spend most of the time on the road... and in Britain that means rain and potholes. lol

i few years ago now, i was "pressing on" as they say, in my Golf 16v along some country roads (thinking I was doing quite well)
when a bloke in a Ford Transit came flying past me -- and continued to disappear into the distance
sort of burst my bubble and told that at the end of the day its 90% the driver anyway

Track day at Snetterton was pissing down all morning - and the RS was very good
You get one hell of a lot of muppets driving in the wet (and that goes for ordinary roads - amazes me the amount of people I see on the Motorway doing over 90mph in pouring rain and standing water on a front wheel drive - no wonder we have so many accidents) and its always funny when the so called specialised track cars come off in the wet...
