I saw one of the early jabba sport vw golf 1.8T GTI's running 330bhp, smoking like a chimney but it was running 330bhp
The Volvo engine isnt exactly good for 420bhp, if you upgrade some of the internals it probably would be though

260bhp! i have a 03my wrx ppp and came across a rs a couple months back, in nice dry conditions. After provoking me i responded lol, i was all over it on the round abouts (good old fashioned AWD) in a straight line out of the round abouts it was dead heat, had to slow for sec for traffic then got going again- he pulled a few meters from a better driver response an the correct gear but then couldn't gain any more. Had to slow again shortly after, this time i got the upper hand, and had to let off for him to get it wound up again. I then slipped streamed him and over took. Nice car but over-rated and too expensive (i work for ford lol) we finally came to a stop at some lights and he didnt seem pleased when i told him what bhp i was running etc.

I had a play with a blob STI PPP and i have to admit it was faster than me on the roundabouts maybe i wasent as daring as him or maybe not as good a driver on the day it was a little faster, he said it was 305bhp is that rite for the spec ????

SCCs RS is running 405bhp on standard RS internals and has been to the ring a few time IIRC
mouttune have just relesed a kit 340 bhp with a warenty for 2k
or pay 2.5k and get 385bhp with no warenty

iirc the classic uk scoobs were booked 0.60 at 5.8 to 6.2 secs depending on which mag you read although auto express roadtested one and timed it at 5.5 secs and that was an early 208 bhp classic. The jdm sti's were always claimed at 4.8 secs to around 5.2 and the wrxs around half a second slower.

So on a sprint from the traffic lights up a motorway slip road most classics would be as quick, some a tad quicker

My standard RB5 215bhp was painfully slow, had crap brakes and supsension was tired. I would not have dared tackle the Focus RS, it would have embarrassed me into selling up.

As for what scooby would show it the door? A classic with 320 BHP...A newage with 350BHP? It's only got 300 FFS it's no rocket ship
300 brake driving 2 wheels not 4, less tranny loss. In the dry can't see much in it really.

My mate owns a standard 09 plate Focus RS, which we ran against my PPP'd Hawkeye STI. The scooby was quicker both round the roundabouts and marginally on the straights, not by an aweful lot though.

He's now gone and purchased the Montune pack for his RS, whilst I'm in the process of doing a full decay and remap, so we shall have another go once were both at around 350bhp :-D

The FRS has almost 100bhp more than you so i would think you would be in a fair bit of trouble

Yep agreed my STI is currently doing 316/335 and mine was not that much quicker at all than a standard RS.

My 8 year old STi PPP (totally stock) gets to 100 almost 2 seconds quicker than a new FRS (12.2 v 14.1). They're nothing spectacular in the straights. Nice top end grunt though with a top speed of 160+mph.

I think its more to do with their revolutionary FWD revoKnuckle technology which helps to eradicate excessive torque steer and maintain stability in demanding turns- which for a FWD car with that sort of power would be almost impossible until this came along.

I only had GB 270 Hawkeye, so I know it was only a WRX but quick enough at first but has no legs at the top end etc. I now have a white RS which I am presently trying to break in and the mid range and top end are something else, it is booked at 20 mph more than my Scooby. Obviously the Scooby was better off the mark and for going sideways!

Looks like the fwd isnt all that then. Really like the rs but it could have been an amazing car with awd. I know they try and tell you that fwd is as good as awd but that 1/4 mile time kind of proves otherwise.
