All the speaker cables are behind the plaster board to the rear corners so you can't see a single cable in the whole room from any angle.

Ooooh - what is that lightbox thing on the left?

And where did you get that cabinet.

I have eleven boxes to house and cannot find anything that will work other than buying multiple racks.

For somebody that goes on and on and on about the so called 'history and workmanship and quality' of a watch I thought you might appreciate the pure quality of paulg1979s kit. This is something where the extra money spent will produce real results and you will hear music in a way that most people never will.

To achieve this you need lots of 'boxes' and they need ventilation, to achieve this in the average living room is difficult. If I walked into Paul's living room I would not think tacky, I would think enthusiast, with some gorgeous kit.

I'd be interested to see your set up, as you obviously appreciate quality products and have a natural flair for style (according to you)

It's a problem but as we've seen some people seem to be able to get around it.

i have a Pioneer 50" telly becuase the lounge is big and it needs to be that big to see it from the other side of the room, it looks awful. I have no need or desire for a cinema system.

I used to have all Marantz KI sig Hi-fi but again hated how it looked so have never bothered to replace it. (I sold everything i owned before i went traveling in 07). I now like the fact that everything i own fits in 2/3 large suit cases and i can be gone within an hour any time i want

If i did build a cinima setup it would (and should be) be in a dedicated cinema room, not in a lounge/sitting room.
Due to small children, mine is behind closed/locked cabinets, but of course can be seen, can't make it disappear. You can defo see my speakers as they are floor standers, not much you can do about that.

Why do you feel the need to be able to get all your possessions in a suitcase and be gone in an hour? I can anywhere I like, I just book a ticket, lock my front door and set the alarm and go.

Of course you would have a dedicated cinema room, but then I forgot your plan is to be a millionaire by the time you were 30 (?40). How's that working out for you?

Trout.

The box to the left is a clock - a binary one - it's different and takes a while to read until you are used to it but now i can read it as quickly as a conventional one.

I had the same issue as you regarding storage. I hate multiple racks and I could not find what i wanted anywhere and did not want IKEA pap. It's from another scandinavian manufacturer called Arctic IIRC. Got it from here:-

(click products / furniture / storage and then n the pics)

Fusion

I warn you though, it's not cheap. there is about £1600 worth in them 2 units but the quality and look of them is stunning.

Edit :Just clicked on the pics and it seems tohave gone up since i bought mine 3 years ago. they are now £936 each!

Thanks Mark.

Great looking products, especially in situ, however rubbish pics on the website and no dimensions!!

I would need more information to see if all my stuff will fit and whether the cabinets would fit in the space I have for them!

There are only 10 who understand binary. Those who do and those who don't!

Found the manufacturers website for you. there is a PDF on there with all the sizes and a lot more info.

Give fusion a ring, really helpful. Tell them Mark Reynolds sent you. I also bought as Mobalpa kitchen from them.

What a load of old gibberish, you make me laugh! No loose ends? Gone? Nat international man of mystery who spends half his time waffling on about old watches?

If you are going to retire (from god knows what) by the age of 40 in this country, you will need to be a millionaire

Right, I'm popping out to the shops. Damn, I can't!! Too many loose ends in my life, they may track me down LOL

Guys,

Take your handbags elsewhere please - you're ruining this thread which has loads of good information for newbies(like me) when it comes to seperates instead of 1 box solutions

Of course you don't need to be a millionaire to retire in this country.

I could "retire" to the far east right now but after trying that for a while i wasn't so keen.
Why should possessions tie you down? They can be sold, given away, stored or dumped

Why should a girlfriend tie you down? If you feel she is doing that, dump.

A job tie you down? A good one means you can get another one abroad, or take a sabbatical.

House tie you down? How? Lock the front door, cancel the milk, walk out.

To retire at 40 in the UK without being somewhere close to a millionaire I would think is very difficult. I base this on the assumption that at some point you may find someone willing to have your children.
In which case you will have the expenses of 4 people for about 20 years, and then 2 for another 20 after that. (I'm hoping you have a long life)

Obviously, you may not want children as they would be a 'loose end' and difficult to stuff into 3 large suitcases, should that mega opportunity you've been waiting for crop up
