For home cinema I want the full fat experience, hence I have a subwoofer that is 4.5ft tall. Its not about ***** waving, but about function,

As I said though, your lounge looks lovely.

I will post some pics of mine when I get time, I think its a mixture of form and function
pics please

Ok I'm going to buck the trend and post several pics, hopefully to answer some questions raised previously...... where is ?? etc

Little history - our house is a self build moved in at Xmas so still work in progress.
Like the naff Sky box on top of the unit.... Sky + HD ordered weeks ago and it will sit in the space on the unit on the right. Wii will be scarted instead of into the front of the TV.

The rug is soooo wrong but we are waiting to get one we both like...

Daytime pics are washed out for colour so some pics included with lights on.

couple of in the loft shots

Of course the night shot

The Bose gear also does multi room sound

Scooby L - Epic speaker choice, the S8's were hard to beat I personally thought they were better than the speakers that replaced them too!

Nice..

And the type of fake fire I was contemplating

I know what you mean about the in ceiling speakers, but I wanted a streamlined look. They do sound pretty damn good though, it might have something to do with this...

Anyway, if I want the full fat experience, I'll be in this room:

Hi Guys.

Firstly, apologies for the image quality, it was a quick picture taken on my phone.

Denon AV Amp, Sky HD, Samsung Plasma, Panasonic Blu-Ray and the Xbox in the cupboard to the left.

I am also using in-ceiling rear speakers

been working at a place this week that has purpose built cinema rooms with 7.1 speakers drop down projector screens with small holes in to allow the sound to come through the screen... the main room has been tested to get cirtificated by DolbyDigital.. and it passes
walls are covered in sound acustic fabric and the doors are lead lined to keep the sound down.
but they are using it for sound recording to put to films etc.

The rooms just need a nice big sofa and then you'd want to put transformers on the screen

Bump - just to make it easy for my Sis in the US to find as I've pointed her in this direction. A lot quicker than trying to send the pics on the so slow Sat internet.

Swiss came over yesterday to help me put my new TV on the wall Neither of use knew what we were doing but we though we would give it a crack

We used 8 rawl bolts & 3 big self tapping screws and rawl plugs, the self tappers came in the mounting kit. We had used 4 but had to remove one due to problems positioning the TV.

The shelf above the TV was already there and it was on the **** and not in the centre of the wall so much to Swiss's annoyance I decided to remove it and put it right

Thanks for your time yesterday mate

I'm not sure but I'd stick my neck out and say that shelf should go for the good of the tv. It cant be good for the tv as it will help trap hot air behind the back of the tv.

Good point and something I will keep my eye on. The shelf was always there so I didn't put it there on purpose lol. If it gets hot I'll take it down and redecorate that wall.
