I had a jaguar tailgating me the other day so I slammed on my brakes and he went straight up my exhaust pipe. But it was ok because my CATalytic convertor sorted him and spat him back out as a skoda.

I tend to stick to the speed limit (or under if they're really pi$$ing me off) and when I get to a round about/junction etc floor it just to let them know I was doing it on purpose

I slow down until they get so pissed off they try to overtake me...

Then drop a cog and keep level with them until they have to brake to go back behind me..then i just leave them for dust.

P.S I don't do this when it can cause a danger to the oncoming traffic in there lane!

In my wagon I never get any hassle.

I went out in my sti type r the other week and had 2 people trying to egg me on by trying to push me down the road in one small journey! One lad even pulled over, let me past (while gawping out the window with a *** off the lip) then pulled out a foot from my bumper.. just makes me go slower!

Actually since selling the Scoob and having my french bucket, I find I have more tailgaters. I dunno if it's becuase some epxect all 205's to be Mi16 or GTi-6 conversions and weeaaallly fast, or if they're genuinely just stupid.

Good example other day. Was driving down Brigg road which in Scunny goes from the town centre to Morrisons. Nice long straight 40 road with a few Ind. Est. turnings and traffic lights. Some manky mummy in her people carrier box was right up my chuffer, couldn't see her headlights in my mirror, she had a car full, on her mobile yapping away. Little bit of left foot braking while doing a steady 40mph didn't do anything, so braked a little harder and she knew then. I heard her front wheels lock up as she obviously wasn't paying attention while yapping on said mobile. Silly bitch then gets straight back into my boot, so I slow down to 25mph in 3rd and simply coast along to a 3 lane roundabout.

Lets just say when she went to turn left and me go striaght ahead, she wasn't impressed with me. Nor was she impressed when while looking right at me giggling at her, she drove into the back of some posh Jag (at low speed unfortunately). Oh how I laughed on the way home

I have had it a few times already and I have only had the car a week! I did used to get it in the VW also though... (the whole little blonde driving a big car thing) people seemed to be up my backside all the time!
I tend to do the whole driving at 25mph thing and then if they are still there when I can put my foot down..... it's bye bye.

I used to have an XR2i a few years ago and I definitely got more hassle in that! I think it's because a lot of young drivers see cars of that era and think "I can take that on", but just don't bother trying to take on the scoob

This morning was a young lad in a focus...not a sporty one but a standard 1.6 focus all hubcaps and everything! He was up my rear for all of 5 minutes when I decided to boot it for once!!! I am normally so calm and collected and tend to drive at least 5Mph under the limit to annoy them.

Needless to say he didn't catch me up!!

I found that when this happens, left foot brake helps lots. But if you have never done it. BE WARNNED try on a privert road first

I've had a few, worst was a bloody Nova last month. He shot past me spitting flames out of the drain pipe he was using as an exhaust (must have had the turbo conversion form the calibra fitted) then slowed down till i was behind him and booted it again. It was on a nice straight road (about 3 miles long) and he kept doing it all the way along. Only got the message that he was a tool and i wasn't playing when he tried on the main street of the town we were heading for, i think the ****** signal gave away what i thought of him and he disappeared off....

This happened to me on last friday night...

The scooby sits in the garage all week and come out at weekends, I took it out the garage friday night to go and pick my kids up. I normally take the scenic route through some deserted country lane.

Anyway I was on my way to the lanes driving through Basildon, I had stop at the light and some youngster in a focus ST I think it was raced away at the light - I reacted and made the situation worst and put my foot down and got to the next roundabout before they did - bit of fun bit naughty not very grown up etc etc...but then the F*cker tailgated me all the way to country lanes about 3 miles away and I am sure they only left me alone because I took a short right and they couldn't follow - I was driving like miss daisy as well - Most admit I was slightly spooked...

In future I will keep the right foot under control....

In theory and reality yes. I did stick to the speed limit (was 3 days after i was done for speeding!) and he didn't, in my defence if i have one i did let him past cos i couldn't be bothered with his feeble baiting.
Next time i see him things will be slightly different, i might go up to 65 then......

Wouldn't be much of a loss to the motoring world would it, a nova with a turbo conversion and flaky red paint.....
The only burning to be done is when i burn away from the McChavish next time he crosses my path.

Is it too late to delete my first post?

Technically as i allowed the McChavish to pass me i didn't get done, i was overtaken. If we were having a race and i lost then i would be shamed forever and not allowed to post on a scooby site again for being done by a nova.

Before i make it worse for myself i'm going to pretend to do some work now.

I just don't understand it really!!

For the record I do find French car drivers the worst. Corsa, Saxo's etc
If the driver's older than 50, it's probably because he cannot see that far and has never had his eyes checked..so I ignore them.

If it's a rep mobile then it's usually in a 30 zone (and everyone knows reps do not need to abide by the speed limit) so he's prob wanting you to dissapear or move over so he can carry on at his normal 60 (I try to make sure I go 29mph during an assult like this..most entertaining).

If it's the standard Frog box driven by your standard youth... well he's tring to justify his £2.99 backbox from halford.com and impress his 12 year old mother of 2 girlfriend... and in that instance he HAS to keep close otherwise he'd lose the tow effect even in a 30

I stopped once.. (in my old 2003 STI)..got out... told the scrunt that I didn't like loking at his horrible spotty face filling my mirror..and to kindly back off... that worked quite well...
