Only 1,000? I was slacking today, only took 1,300!

Absolutely fantastic day, I told you it would be good racing. and how amazing was it to hear Murray Walker commentating again?

Thanks for the car decorations and the ESC chorus of "Happy Birthday", I wont forget my 40th in a hurry.

Also, thanks to David (Hairy DJ) for the extra info and my entry ticket today.

I tried, on a number of occasions, to say "hello" but you were somewhat busy.

Did get this pic though.....

Not sure if you saw my Subaru jacket or whether it was a fluke that you looked straight at the camera.

What a day! After a premature start (arriving at Thurrock at 6.19am - thanks Ark) and a light shower, (the fastest Supercue moved all day) the day just got better & better!

Great cars, good to meet a few more of the ESC; namely Mrs B4 (I speak as I find!! You did make me laugh!!) and Tracey - well done for the Murray Walker announcement (I think you scored a good few brownie points there!) Also good to meet Tiny & Karen, Kev (that cleaning thing really is an obsession!) & Paula - good luck with the forthcoming nuptuals!

Also a huge thanks to the birthday boy for arranging this - a terrific day out (a few more racing trips like this and you'll be Arks pal for life!!)

I just hope Tom's Kel made it home without redecorating the inside of his Scoob (I really don't think those double vodkas helped Kelly!)

Like the rest -I too caught the sun a little.................!

Til the next time,

Rudolf x

Thanks for catching me like that I did try to smile whenever I saw anything Scooby-ish, but it did get a bit manic at times. Hadn't planned to be paddock / pits / assembly, but there was a shortage of the usuals so got stuck in. Quite impressed by the English spoken / understood by the competitors - way better than my total lack of Foreigneze.

Hope you guys had a great day - downside to my job was that I was part of the team taking the drivers off to Parc Ferme after each final, so didn't get to eat much track dirt.

We might be giving our time for free and a couple of bottles of water, but it is a bonus to be up close - amazing to see Liam's pit crew pop the rear lid, change one cooling fan & secure ready to go in less than 20 seconds.

For those who missed it or want to drool, there are some fantastic "walk around the track" piccies on the 10/10ths forum showing the new layout in good detail.
