Les -we have tried fishing a few times off our boat and are officially cr4p!
NS - LOL! Think they are more easy going down here.

Hodgy - do you mean the Roseland Inn (in Philleigh)? Still good although it keeps changing owners. Proper country pub.
Best nearby food is probably Castaways at Mylor. Very good chef there at the moment (Michelin starred I think) but also good options in St Mawes and some in Falmouth - all an easy boat ride away.

yes Mattee you bang on the official name is the Roseland Inn -- but we always referred to is as "The Philleigh"
used to have a really grumpy landlord, but the food was always V good
