how exactly does the map make pops and bangs? more air/fuel input?! Does this in turn give less mpg? Can this be switched on/off?

Easiest way to add some sound effects is to retard the ignition is the very low load cells for higher rpm. You can add fuel if you like but none of this will do the turbo or front 02 sensor any good really.

not switchable.

why not go for the apexi then and save some wedge?

What kinda risk are we really talking about with mapped pops. As the apexi is dual map, i would play one for track and another for fun around town with pops n bangs

Lovin the mapped pops there Jim.

THanks for the sound clip! Do they flame to? Pop between gear changes?

I think you have made my mind up. Unless i can get a simtek with als cheap (doubtful) i think ill be going for a 2nd hand or new apexi with mapped pops. These seem much more common on the second hand market.

If i have to go for new then it will be the simtek w als. Other wise send hand apex/simtek with als.

Just sent jolly green an email for some advice

THanks for the help guys!
