I would go up the Pyg track and down the Miners trail for variation.Bout 4 to 5 hours generally
I find the LLanberis path a bit boring but it is an easier route.
You can park at pen y pass but its a fiver and you need to get there early.I park a bit further down and get one of the regular buses.
The cafes will be really expensive but as just posted Peat's Eats in Llanberis is highly recommended

Best to stay away from Crib Goch then - climbed it for my first mountain in January 1997 - my mate was so scared he stood on his own thumb

Crib goch certianly looked an interesting route

We took the pygs path up and the miners route down, shame it was absoloutely p1ssing it down but I still enjoyed it.

I'll remember to take some gloves next time as I lost all feeling in my hands on the way down.
