He is referring to this statement that you made "poxy jap rally rep or crappy "hot" hatch"
No need to call someones pride and joy a "poxy jap rally rep" now is there?

Z4's are built in America hence the build quality.

Hey if it's the new shape I could call it a "poxy and crappy rally rep hot hatch" and score a hole in one I guess...?

My statement which although a bit hypocritical refers partly to those who think an Impreza or a Focus ST is a slayer of all other cars.

Okay - Evos too - not really very "hatchbacky" though in present form though.

Glad you're enjoying it voodoo. I found the same with 1st and 2nd gear. Just need to get used to the clutch. The brakes were really powerful. Especially after getting out of my heavy convertible.

Not that nice given most of the stuff I've read about them. Just means you get to visit your local Merc service centre on a regular basis and build up a good friendship with the service manager

I think they look stunning, nicely unique and almost retro- Im thinking back to the low slung coupes of the 60's-

loved the Z3 coupe - hardtop version- can't remember its proper name sadly !

if you can afford it, go for it

Thanks again all. Glad it's liked by a lot of you. When I posted pics of my 330ci convertible it didn't seem to be too popular on here but it's good to know this seems like the better move. Maybe it might be something to do with M badge.

That looks like a nice car, thing i dont get is that if you have had loads of dramas with your current Car, why go and buy another model???? that type of thing would make me NOT buy another one from the same stable IMO.
Not directed at the OP but a generalization.

It wasn't so much the dealer it was the car that was the problem. My local dealer that did the repairs were pretty poor too. If I have problems with this one I'll definitely be driving the 40 miles to get it looked at rather then leaving it with my local dealer.

Once I clapped eyes on the Z4M I couldn't help but love it and had to buy it.

It really is quite lovely.

Bet the wheels are tricky to clean though - as a car washing nerd, I notice stuff like that!

Easiest ever wheels to clean? The standard ones on the mk5 GTi Golf!

Thanks mate.

I'll tell you what they're actually really easy to clean. The sponge gets right in the spokes with ease and you can clean right to the back of the wheels too so they always look new. I had these wheels before on my 330ci and they were a nightmare.

I'm so scared of scratching the dark paint work though so always snow foam first

I've so far put in Shell Optimax, Sainsburys Super (my scoob personal fave), Bp ultimate and Bp regular unleaded. It felt ever so slightly more lively on Shell, but it may have been in my head. I've not noticed too much of a difference with any fuels except for regular where I "thought" I perceived it was slightly "gruffer" on idle.

Shell was the first tankful I put in, but was light on the car as I'm still learning it. I'm getting well over 300 miles per tank right now and am really surprised as I've had quite a few spritied runs out, took her way up over 6k revs many times and have tested her out at 1.3 leptons on a private track and cruised on a motorway type road (not necessarily in the UK) at 9.5leptons for some distance.

Are these 2+2 or do they have no rear seats?

I don't like BMWs per se. I think they are for what I want from a car overrated and a bit too quirky looking these days. The only BMW I have ever liked is the E39 M5.

Then you come along and post pics of this beauty. I love it. It looks like something from a Batman movie.

Enjoy it and if it drives half as good as it looks you are onto a winner!!

Its just a 2 seater but the other half has a Mini so if more seats are needed we're fine.

I know its not a major consideration when designing one of these cars, but what sort of boot space is there in the Z4M guys?? Would there be space for a set of golf clubs, two sets would be great, but that might be pushing it!!

Also, does anyone else think that the ///M badge on the rear looks a little random... I've looked at the rear 3/4 angle picture more than a few times and the more I look at it the more I think it'd look better and cleaner without the badge?

Cheers,
Grant

Its actually got a fair boot size. It has more room then my old 330ci vert. It will easily fit a set of golf clubs and probably two sets with a push.

I like the badge on the back. The badge actually opens the boot too. It flips around when you push it.

Good news about the golf clubs, thats about the biggest thing I'd be wanting to carry in a car... nice to know its reasonably practical.

It was the ///M badge on the left that I thought looked out of place a wee bit, the BMW badge looks fine, probably as it sits central and keeps things symmetrical.

Cheers,
Grant
