Simon, but that was going from 2.5 to 2.35? .... so the V must spool bloody well then! Did you say peak boost on your 2.35 is about 3500 with the V? Sounds v nice :-)

BioEthanol shows the effects of raising octane levels further than its std octane level when mixed with normal fuel. I am sure a petro-chemist will explain the effect. E85 is approx 109 octane.
Using BioEthanol will require less fuel than Methanol (at the same mix %) so I would be dubious over it getting better results than an equivalent mix of methanol. I have no firm data to prove or disprove which gets better results though although I have run both additives and had great results on both.
I prefer using BioEthanol from a handling, safety and availability point of view. (it smells mighty fruity too )

but only from assumption.. not had the opportunity to try both on the same car..
no e85 available local otherwise I'd give it a comparision.

no 1bar in 4th is 3500rpm on my current setup but my engine is far from the normal with fairly wild cams and high VE etc.. peak boost is about 3700~3800rpm in 4th.
1bar in 4th on the 2.5 with the T was about 2800rpm iirc and peak boost about 3100rpm something like that..

Out of interest is anybody running a T on a 2.2? Im building a forged EJ22T and im strapping a T on to it. Jgm mapping is September, 02 sti so the AVCS should help spool.

I presumed it was you Marcus but wasn't 100% as couldn't remember your username
I presumed you would be changing the engine but wanted to make sure.. lol
probably late 300s, 1.2bar perhaps..
yes due to lower torque at that boost and spool later on 2litre the box should be okay for a bit

You'll say bolt it on because then I'll be paying you to map it twice

Thanks for replying Simon. Now I need to decide whether I buy a T and bolt it on and see how long it lasts or wait till I have another engine to put in......hmm decisions decisions . Would I be gaining anything over my vf35 at this power level as I wouldn't be able to make full use of the T (e.g. would the later spool actually make it worse to drive)?

no I often tell people to fit all the mods first and have it mapped once..

T running around 1.4 bar and comfortable 392bhp/415lb/ft. Will be between 420-440bhp at 1.7/1.8 bar. Currently limited by boost control on the ECU (Adaptronics) but can overcome with seperate boost controller (AVCR) or different ECU (thinking Solaris).
Plan is for a few more mods (fuel wise), and to sort out a couple of other problems then go for the Solaris from Simon - top fella and would recommend to anyone.

Great thread lads,
Really enjoying it,
Please keep it coming!
I'm building a high compression (8.9:1) 2.5 with a t+ at the moment,
We will max out the boost capability of te standard ecu on Ecutek (1.6 bar)
Aiming for early and fast spool and big low and mid range torque,
Using E5 (same as Tesco99) E85 is available locally aslo!
I'll post up as soon as she's mapped and Rolling roaded!

Irish company called Maxol sells E5 (5% ethinol) 99ron as standard petrol which is what I'm mapped for with 100mm NF per tank!
Most Maxol stations sell E85 also,
Blessington, Co. Wicklow have it and walkinstow ave, just of longmile rd in dublin!
Blessington is about 7 miles form Mondello Park
