A guy dropped dead last night somewhere near the bank of England , Police went in to retrieve him and whilst trying to work on him, whilst trying to save the mans life they were pelted with bottles.
Well that has certainly proven to me that these people have the right ideas about running the country........Pelt the police as they trying to push breath back into the body of a dying man......... Yeah hang the bankers........

Stupid stupid people, Oh and Henrik the English have plenty big enough *****. Thats why a country so small has so much power. Its because the majority use there brains in order to get change, they dont rely on wanna freedom fighter students to fight the police.

In a strange twist of fate I have spoken to a few people today who said they have started to feel a tiny bit of sympathy for the city after yesterday, They dont forgive them, not by a long shot but the scene from yesterday.... well if you had to pick a side, I mean if it was either one side or the other to get us out of trouble, would it be yesterdays brain dead idiots fighting and smashing things up or people that are working towards a resolution from there office block.
I dont think I would vote for swampy if he stood for government.

I have started to feel a bit pro capitalism too, So I guess there protest did change opinion a bit. I was all fair trade this time two days ago, now I am a bit pro profit.

Personally I believe that peaceful protest is far more effective.

I can't stand bullies or ignorant fools causing damage and injuring people in the name of 'the right to protest'

The sad fact is that if there were a message here it has been lost. It has been lost because a minority of the protesters in London are not there to protest but are actually rent a mob looking for a fight.

Rent a mob would turn up and fight irrespective of what was going on...I just find it strange that this isn't highlighted by the press
If they achieved all their aims unconditionally you can guarantee they'd be back next time fighting against those aims.

Indymedia London | Videos | Show | film of police attack on G20 climate camp

Still think you've got a right to peacefully protest without the police beating you up or trying to stop you?

Just watching now.
Correct me if im wrong, but im sure the agreement was that the climate camp would go by 7pm. This is 45 mins later, and im sure the taxpayer would not be happy leaving dozens of police on duty overnight for the sake of this.

As the police approach people are screaming "forward forward" am I to assume this was telling people to confront the police ?

Only managed to watch a few mins, got to run to work (something few of them know anything about ) but so far from what I have watched I would support the police in all their actions.

even hitting people with batons, hitting them with shields etc when they're clearly just standing in the way and not doing anything to the police (apart from standing in the way)? Seems very heavy handed to me

Like you said earlier, though, we're never gonna see eye to eye on this, just thought I'd post it anyway

Not sure how far into the video that is, but yes, everything I saw until 3.30 or so looked fine and justified.

Run at a copper, shout and get up in his face, cause an obstruction when being told to move etc..... yes, getting hit is tough luck in my books.

At that stage it was NOT a peaceful protest any longer, and people were starting to become abusive, and force the police back, and cause a crush. Once it gets physical, as far as im concerned the police are well within their rights to use force.

I think the phrase "standing in the way" is being used VERY losely there. Standing would suggest stationary, not moving in mass towards the police line.

OK watched a bit more and seen where it starts to get a bit more heated. Its harsh, but still would say fair. You are confronted with a copper in riot gear, the line he is in are telling you all to move back. Its NOT up for discussion, they need you to do what they ask you to.

Standing in a coppers face, trying to reason with him or just make your objections known in the given situation is somewhat stupid to say the least.
It could have been a LOT worse. Didnt see too many people actually being hit with batons, more pushed and roughed up a bit

If they were only supposed to be their till 7pm and it's 7:45pm then they should have slung there hook and buggered off, no argument, the police are there to do a job, to get them to move on which they haven't, all they are doing is antaganising them by staying.

The arguement there is, its their diplomatic right to be in a public place.

But im with you 100%, if a copper tells me to foof off, I go. Riot gear or not

In France and other places, they would get a good hose down from water cannon and tear gas. If we are all part of this 'European Human Rights Bill' why can't we do that over here...?

At the least it would save to many batton injuries and the majority of people wouldn't hang around too long if they are soaked.
