Car Damaged - Really P*ssed Off, Any Legal Advice?

Just last week I had a new front bumper fitted and sprayed on my Focus. I was doing about 50 in a national speed limit and, as I was driving over the brow of a hill hit a pile of turf that someone had kindly left in the middle of the road.
I had no way of avoiding it, so just coughed the money up to get it fixed(£400) - even a non-fault claim would cause the insurance companies to rape me for years to come since I'm only 21.
This happened about 11pm, but I went back the next day and knocked the door of the nearest house to check if they had any landscaping going on at the time. They didn't, so I just left it at that; what else could I do? I agree with others in saying I think you should just take it on the chin and move on.

I am potentially stuck with a £700-800 bill to fix my car all because a hotel has been too lazy to maintain their grounds. I have already submitted a formal letter to them, having already spoken to a solicitor, and just have to wait now for their response.
If this damage had been caused my me or my recklessness then I would be paying for it myself immediately. As that is not the case, I am fighting my corner - even though I have recieved a number of very rude and heartless comments from a contingent of Scoobynet users. Which I have to admit makes me think seriously about ever contributing/using to the forum again.
A throughly disappointed Scoobynet user...........
Thanks! It was....

Posting on SNet doesn't mean that every subsequent poster with agree with you, it gives you a mix of responses and from these you pick the most useful ones and act on the advice given.
I can imagine your frustration at the damage, but as others have indicated having a low front spoiler and then catching it on a kerb is hardly the fault of anyone else. live and learn, I bet you won't do it again!
